Anybody can help me with one question. I am 24 years old, met this girl in 2005 (I have no citizenship at that time)and we still are together as lovers til' now which is 2009. I just got my citizenship last year so I am planning to go back to Vietnam the end of this year to marry her then come back to US to do the I-130, then I-129f for the K3 to bring her over here. I am collecting evidence showing that I met her since 2005. At that time I didn't really think about saving all the evidence that we were together. Since I met her in 2005 I went back to vietnam in 2006 and 2008. I have lots of pictures in 2005, 2006, 2008, but I threw away all the plane ticket for 2005 and 2006. Where in Vietnam that I can get the information that I was back there in 2005 & 2006? My passport has only one Vietnam visa stamped because I just got my citizenship last year so it was my first passport, therefore only one vietnam visa on my passport, which was when I went back in 2008, that's last year. I need evidence for 2005 and 2008. I heard that I can get a record of my Vietnam visa travels somewhere in vietnam where they keep all the record of people traveling to Vietnam. Is this true?????

Having the past records would be a plus but the main thing is to start piling up evidence from now on. Get a long distance carrier like AT+T so you guys will have GOOD communication records. Make a short call daily [for the record] and use email, chats, screen prints for the majority of communicating.

Take LOTS of picture when you get married. Best to hire a pro to take pics for the wedding if you can afford it.

From now on make it a job establishing evidence of you guys having a bonafide loving relationship and marriage later.

If your mate doesn't speak good English have her diligently work on improving such. It can make a HUGE difference at the interview. Also when she gets to the US.

Do you still have your old Vietnamese pssport with entry stamps?

In 2005 & 2006 I didn't have my citizenship so I went back to Vietnam with a US Permanent resident card plus a vietnam visa that the travel agency made for me when I book my plane tickets. How do I get a record of the vietnam visa that I took to vietnam in 2005 and 2006?

How have you been communicating with her for the past 4 years? Do you have any of those records? Good luck getting the VN government to help you with 3-4 year old records of your entries and exits.

I communicate through phone cards and yahoo chat and voice

Try going through the travel agency to see what they can get you. Though showing the entry stamps and boarding passes is much more substantial. I'm sure you must have pictures of all the times you've been together. Assemble as much anecdotal evidence as you can from your earlier trips and all of your communication.

Your situation isn't unique (Viet Kieu going back to visit and meeting someone). Biggest challenge will be proving that the relationship is legit. That you two are marrying for love and not a green card. What are the family connections, if any, between you? From the same town/village? Who introduced you? Those are the typical issues for HCMC.

Actually we are from the same village, when I went back in 2005 to visit my hometown then I met her at a karaoke place. There is no family connection between us but we are from the same town, actually village. Is it bad if we are from the same town???

As far as getting the visa is concerned: Same town/village is not a bad thing. No family connection is good. Meeting at a karaoke place is just as good as meeting anywhere else.

Sadly going through HCMC can be tough. You may be asked to give a lot of detail about your family and your finacee's family. It's all done to make sure it's not just a green card arrangement. Folks in the regional forum will help with all the questions. Don't get discouraged. It's all worth it in the end when the two of you are together.

How do I use chat as evidence, there is an option to print it out? Does consulate even look at that as evidence? I mean yahoo chat could be anyone, how can they prove that the yahoo account is yours? I always talk to my girlfriend using yahoo voice chat almost every single day for the past 4 years. Can I print out the voice chat record of dates and length of conversation as evidence?

Chat transcripts are definitely looked at. We were asked to supply more communication evidence as part of the blue slip from the interview and once they were submitted (along with the other piece of info requested) the visa was issued.

You can pull up a call history of Yahoo voice chat as well. Print that to show as well.

These things are all bricks in the foundation of your relationship story. Showing the CO overwelming evidence will get the approval. So don't think "some" is enough. Kill a couple of trees and print out everything that you can.
