i was wondering when the 90 days before u can file n400 start.... at the date u put in ur application( u have to put a date) ,or the date u mail it or the date they receive it???

if it is the date they receive it, i am sure they won't open the package the same day...

any ideas from you thank you...

I would say it's the date they get it (some would say the post-mark, but certainly not necessarily the date you put on the form) - it's not a contest to see how close to the 90 days you can get by the way. :P

I'm consistently amazed that this is even an issue. Do applicants get so excited about applying that they really can't wait until the correct time to file, and are willing to risk the entire process over a single day?

How hard can it be to file on a date when you are absolutely sure that you are within the 90 day window? I know that sometimes it's hard to figure out whether it's 91 days or 89 days or whatever because of the fact that some months have 30 days and some have 31 days, but if that's the case, what harm is there in waiting an additional couple of days until you are sure that you're within the 90 day window?

Application for Naturalization

11/14/08 - sent off N-400 to Vermont Service Center

11/18/08 - NOA stating app sent to National Benefits Center

11/24/08 - NOA giving fingerprinting appointment

12/18/08 - fingerprinting appointment

does it really matter anymore since you sent it? bottom line is if they accept the package then you are fine... if the reject it then you are not....

YMMV
