Hey everyone,

I am new to this forum and I have a question about the name check security clearance. My husband is from Turkey and we are currently living here. I applied for his immigrant visa on 3/2/09 and we just got our interview appointment in Ankara for 6/9/09. He has already been approved for a 10 year tourist visa from before and we went through a 3 month name check process to get security clearance for that visa. We anticipate that he will have to go through the process again for the immigrant visa. Does the fact that he already has one level of clearance mean anything? Will it go any faster this time or do they start over? Is anyone in this situation?

Good luck to everyone out there!

Kimberly

It may go a bit faster, since he has a 10 year visa, and the 3 month check.

How common is his name?

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
