I was trying to google what BY likes and I came up with this

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Not only are police seeing more assault weapons, they also see more bad guys wearing body armor, which stops slugs from less powerful guns.

i suspect that's gonna be the next thing someone is gonna try to ban.

Perhaps you should offer your services to the police as a consultant Charles. It's quite obvious to me that you know far more about armaments and how to address these standoff situations than those stupid idiots in SWAT. It's amazing that they have survived so long without your help really.

funny how i was talking about body armor, not armaments, in that post you quoted.

The 10 assault rifles that Knight ordered for the Chaska force cost $900 a piece, including a car lock rack. Officers will carry two 30-bullet clips.

they better opt for the 30 round clips, they'll do better in a firefight.

Why on earth would a regular duty police officer need that kind of armament?

missed that one, eh? 30 bullets?

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

So you imagine a police officer working his beat carrying an AR-15 with him at all times?

a bullet is a component of a round. having 30 bullets won't do anyone any good.

having 30 rounds, on the other hand, would make a world of difference. ;)

So you imagine a police officer working his beat carrying an AR-15 with him at all times?

it happens in turkey, albeit with a larger caliber automatic rifle.

You think that would make society safer?

do you think it makes society less safe?

No, what's funny is that the only thing you think worth commenting on is your estimation that I made a 'quote' mistake. How idiotic.

but we forgive you :luv:

It's armament escalation which ultimately leaves the public more vulnerable to harm. Why stop with AR-15's? Why not equip police cars with rocket launchers, perhaps a machine gun turret? Is that the kind of society you want to live in?

Not me, I'd be happy with less guns flying around. Oh, I know there are those that think they are members of some militia that's ready to go to 'protect' America from the unconstitutional (people like Obama presumably) and that guns protect them and their families from criminal harm, blah blah blah. For me, that is mostly nonsense. Responsible gun ownership is understanding that guns are not toys but instruments of death. They can be used for sporting competitions and targets shooting, but they are necessarily capable of great harm and should be treated with knowledge and respect. I have no problem with people who want to shoot for sport (controlled environments, shooting ranges etc) hunt, or who need them because they live in areas where dangerous wild animals are a prevalent threat, but for the rest, violence begets more violence. The statistics show this to be true.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .
