Now i donot know what is next to do, i called NVC, agent told me they have not recieved confirmation about choice of agent. They told me wait for a week, but i already resent email DS3023 to NVC.

You say your parents do not have birth certificates, so what did you send with the I-130 to establish the relationship between you and your parents?

As for the DS-3032 it can take 10 days or more for it to be accepted, Here is the list of documents they are going to need for the DS-230

Your parents are going to need:

BIRTH CERTIFICATES or EVIDENCE USED FOR I-130

ADOPTION PAPERS

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE

MARRIAGE TERMINATION (DIVORCE)

COURT RECORDS

MILITARY RECORDS

POLICE CERTIFICATE

2 PHOTOGRAPHS

PETITIONER MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE FOR ALL MARRIAGES

PETITIONER BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Yes your parents will need their birth certificates.

The relationship between you and your parents is proven by their names being on your birth certificate and their names are proven by their birth certificate, or anyone could claim to be the people named on your birth certificate.

Hi everyone

My daughter applied for our I-130 on the 24th April 2009 and it was approved 30th April 2009.

Currently we are being patient....!

I have read with interest about registering email addresses to receive notifications from the NVC.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to do this and also how it would benefit us?

Many thanks and best wishes

Richard

Hi Richard

Once your approved I-130 get sent to the NVC they will assign a case number to your case. What I did for my parents was I phoned NVC every day to check if a case number had been assigned, once it was I gave the operator the email addresses for myself and my parents. NVC are moving over to email based processing so once they have the email address they will send everything by email instead of by snail mail.

I followed the shortcuts listed here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and you can get all the information about the NVC here http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...nal_Visa_Center

This will save you quite a bit of time. see my timeline below for details of how long things took. If you can get everything to NVC and get your case complete before the end of the 2nd week of July then stand a good chance of getting a Aug interview.

Oh my gosh Richard!! Your guys' I-130 was approved in 6 days?!?!?! Did I read that right? 6 days that's super fast!!! Oh my gosh!!!

The benefit of registering your e-mail with NVC is that the process will be much much faster... There's a VJ member here MariaSH who completed her case at NVC in just 11 days!

Good luck!!!

Many thanks for the encouragement Picaraz. Yes the approval took everyone by surprise.

Now we are hounding the NVC for the Case Number. We are SO prepared. Everything is in place, all certificates are ready.

We need to set a new record!

Another question for you all.

The DS230.

What actually happens here?

From my understand, which may be wrong, it is us, the visa applicants that complete this form and send back to the NVC along with our documents. What happens to it from there?

Please feel free to correct me on this. I just want to get everything right first time.

Best wishes to all

I had my parents sign the DS230 and I then completed it and had all the certifdicates and police report ready to mail as soon as I had paid the IV fee bill and could print the barcode coversheet.

Once NVC get the DS230 they review all the paperwork and once this is done the case is then complete and you will get a interview date and the case paperwork will be forwarded to the embassy. You will then get a email with the interview instructions and instructions for the medical.

One hint I can give you is that when you are paying the AOS fee bill you will only have to pay $70 as both cases will be linked and they only charge the $70 once.

I had all the packets (DS-3032, AOS, DS-230) ready to go before the I-130 was even approved, My parents sent for the police report as soon as the I-130 was sent to USCIS (its valid for 12 months so you can get it as soon as you can). As for the medical in london my parents live too far from london to go just for the day so we knew they were going to have to go twice, one for the medical and again for the interview. My parents did there medical as soon as they could and before they had their interview date. They are on vacation now so it was better for them to have the medical done before they went on vacation rather than trying to rush getting it done just before their interview. They just called the number that is shown on the Embassy website and they were able to get their appointment.

AS for the DS3032 as soon as I had the case number for their cases I emailed the Choice of Agent template (available on VJ wiki) to the NVC and it was accepted just a few days later. I did it from my email address as my parents were not very sure about how to send it!!

Hope all this helps, if you have other question just ask..

Hi Richard!

Ain't TayRivers great? He/she answers everything with such detail!!! Love it!!!

If I'm not mistaken, you could also call USCIS, enter your USCIS case number and listen to the recording say that your I-130 is approved and give you the NVC case number. I believe that's how I got my parents'.

Good luck and please post your timeline if you do set a new record so I can refer people to it. I comment a lot on this one Spanish visa website and the main question regarding IR5 process is how long it all takes...

Good luck again!!!

Hi everyone.

Many thanks for all your comments again. My daughter has been calling the USCIS but they just say that the case is at NVC.

I have already checked the NVC today but no joy. My daughter will call them later.

Regarding the DS230. I understand all that has been said but we have all the documentation here. Can we (at the appropriate time) send them in with the forms downloaded. Or should we mail the whole lot now to our daughter for her to forward? I am unsure what is the best thing to do.

One further question about the Interview at the US Embassy in London. Are these scheduled throughout the day or do they generally occur in the morning? I am just trying to pre-plan things as we live some distance from London and also have to catch a ferry!

Thanks everyone.

Richard

If you are going to appoint your daughter as your agent then you should send all the paperwork to her in the US that way when the time comes she can mail by express mail to NVC rather than you sending it international from UK.

The interviews are normally set for AM my parents interviews are at 8:30 am and you have to allow time to get through security at the Embassy. My parents are traveling down the day before and traveling home the day after.

The same for the medical their appointment time was 9:00am they were given a choice of what day bit not what time. My parents said that most of the people they met at the medical were all given the same time to be there.

As for calling USCIS there is no point as your case has been forwarded to NVC you or your daughter can call them you just need your USCIS receipt number. I always spoke to a officer as the automated system can be days behind with the correct info. The Phone number for NVC is 603-334-0700 press 1 then 5 to speak to an officer.

Everything you say is really useful.

Regarding the DS3023 and the I-864 bill. If you had registered your email address do these come by email or through the post?

Honestly there is so much to get right!

I suspected that the interviews etc were in the morning. That is more useful for us so that is quite pleasing.

Regarding phoning the NVC. How should one speak to the officer at the NVC? Is there any way that things can be asked in such a way as to 'move things along' or is it purely for info only? I also do not want to rock the boat!

Our Police Checks should be back tomorrow and three final certificates. Getting there!

Thanks everyone

HELP HELP HELP!!!!

My daughter phoned the NVC and was told the following.

'Your case is in California at the immigration center, the NVC is in New Hampshire and is not handling the case'.

Now we know that the USCIS sent our I-130 to California. Have I made a mistake in phoning the NVC?

Should my daughter and I be calling elsewhere?

I would appreciate any help please as I am now baffled.

Richard
