updating my parents' cases

I just got approval notice for my both of my parents in mail today. and i called the nvc phone number listed on the notice. for my mom's case, i got the nvc# and i also updated my email and my mom's email. for my dad's case, they said they don't have it in the system yet. i will call back later to get the nvc#.

what should i do now for the next step?

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

Hi Pook, well I definitely will assist to my daughters interview, Im the petitioner and since she doesnt even knows how to talk yet I am thinking that they will pop the questions to me. Anyway, Im also hoping and praying to have her before Christmas too, right now Im just waiting for her passport to be issued and that my mother can send me the photocopy of her biographic info page and also 2 pictures of her that I must send along with all her civil documents :star:

I hope so. We prepare all documents they need already just wait for barcode and we good to go. Wish wish wish we have it in 2 days. Can't wait to see her again ( I just came back from Thailand on her birthday June but I really want to see her again already)

If your daughter too young to speak they will ask you but don't worry. It's easy question. They just want to see her and prove that you are family. Hope all go well with you guys and pray for the best Chismas gift ever!!!

NVC Center

Once your case is received by the NVC they will each be given a case number. Once that happens you will have to give your email address to the NVC as well as the email address for your parents.

Tips for NVC

Once you know that the I-130 have been sent to the NVC you can start calling them, I did this every day until I got the case number.

NVC phone number 603-334-0700

You need to speak to a officer so skip the automated service by pressing 1 then 5 after you get through.

Once you have the case number you need to give the operator the email addresses for you and your parents.

Next you need to email the NVC the DS-3230 choice of agent. Use this template for the email.

Next you will get a email from the NVC telling you the petitioner that you need to pay the AOS fee bill it will give you the link to the NVC payment site where you will pay the fee using a credit card or debit card.

You only need to pay $70.00 once as both your parents cases are linked and they only charge once.

Once that is paid you will print out a barcode coversheet from the payment site for each parent you will need to attach one to each AOS packet that you have made for each parent

What you need to do is, you send one complete set of original documents with the Barcode coversheet of one parent and then for the other parent you have to attach to their Barcode Copversheet a photocopy of the original document and write on it "Original Held In Case # LND2009****** " You must do that for every document that is not the original.

Also when you come to paying the AOS Fee Bill you only need to pay this once, when you go on-line to pay it you will see that it says "includes another case" and it will link to other parent's case so that you can print out the Barcode Coversheet for them both.

Once all the paperwork has been received at NVC they will review your parents cases this can take anything from a few days to a few weeks.

Once the review is complete then you will get a email telling you that the case is complete and has been forwarded to the embassy in your parents country.

You will also get a interview letter telling you the date of the interview and a link to the Embassy website with instructions on how to get the medical done and instructions for the interview.

Shouldn't be a copy of the bio pages of their passport be included as one of the docs needed on the DS230? I included a copy of my parents passport bio pages..

the email part seem very promising and faster, however my question is, once you set up the emails, is that how they will communicate with you throughout the whole process or will i still be getting mails? also when the email my mother will it be in english or her language?

NVC will not send anything by snail mail, it will all be done by email and both you and your parents will get the emails. All NVC emails are in English.

Yes go ahead and print out the forms you are going to need. The Ds-230 has to be signed by your parents so you need to get that done. If you wait for NVC to email you the link for the forms and then you need to mail them to your parents and wait for the forms to come back you are going to waste time. Get it done now and you will be ready to mail each packet as you get the mails.

When my parents went for the interview to visit me, both of them came to the interview window together but only my mother answered all the questions. So I would think it's gonna be the same for the immigration interview and the whoever is the principle beneficiary on I-486 would be the one to answer most of the questions.
