Hey guys,

I just called NVC and they assigned case numbers to my partents files. I have both case numbers, I already provided my email to them. Then I asked oprater If she can give me Invoice ID number, she said no she dont have access and they will send me via email in next 2 to 4 weeks.

I am going to call again to get IIN number... I am not sure if they will send me via email... Richard and Tay any thought???

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

They will send an email to both the petitioner and beneficiary when the DS-3032 has been generated and the AOS fee is payable. The email will contain an attachment with the IIN number. There is not much point in pushing them for this ahead of time as you will be unable to pay the AOS fee until it is invoiced at which point you will receive the email anyway.

Just to let you guys know, NVC has issued a case number for my mom today 09/18/09. I got the NO2 on 09/09/09 so nine days bewtween USCIS and NVC is not bad at all. I talked to a live person since the automated system did not recognize my USCIS receipt number. I registered my mom's and my e-mail addresses. Things seem to be moving along fairly quickly.

The only thing is that I will be dealing with the busiest consulate of them all, the one in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico :blink:

CONGRATULATIONS luckyyy!! How did you find out? Email, AVR or call to NVC?

I called and spoke to an operator this morning and she told me that the case has been completed today. Then I checked my email and found out that the Email notification was there waiting for me to read. ;)

AVR is still behind though. So as tay pointed out, it's better to talk to an operator to find out the real status of the case.

Hi everyone

Just an update on my RFE.

We spoke to the NVC lady who told us that I was missing a Police Check for time served when I was in the RAF in Germany. I had been previously told (twice!) by the US Embassy in London that my RAF record of service covers this perioed so the Police check was not necessary.

However I was told that it IS now necessary. I managed in two hours to get all the documentation together AND signed at a Police Station in the UK before sending off to Germany.

The RFE arrived by email and it also said that I need to submit my RAF record of service!!!! I have already done this so I have no idea what they are now looking for.

It is terribly frustrating as we did check and double check and yet we were still wrong. Now we have to find a document that we have already sent.

Goodness knows what kind of delay this is causing. I am typing this watching removal men take our furniture into storage. We thought it was going to be for just a few weeks.

Ah well, you have got to keep smiling eh?

need help here please!..just confused about the I-130 question number 22 page2...here's the question!

Your Relative is in the United States and will apply for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident at the USCIS office in: If your relative is not eligible for adjustment of staus,he or she will apply for a visa abroad at the American consular post in:

NOTE: Designation of a U.S. embassy or consulate outside the country of your relative's last residence does not guarantee acceptance for

processing by that post. Acceptance is at the discretion of the designated embassy or consulate.

Have you ever before filed a petition for this or any other alien? yes or no

I filed for my Mom and now filing for Dad..Please help....I am kinda confusing right now...hubby don't know the answers too so I decided to send a messages here.I haven't heard anything about my Mom's case yet. I am pretty sure there's probably a problem. I called the USCIS last tuesday and she's pretty nice to me and spent more time to explained about my Mom's case but then still pending. She said I'll call again after a week to check it again. She told me about what to do about Parent's new address. And then I got her name so if I don't hear anything after 30 days I'll send an email to CSC. But right now, I need help to fill up my Dad's I-130. I just wanna make sure I filled it right. And I wanna say thank you to Tay and Richard! You both helps me..And I am glad I am here in VJ!

What I meant, just checked my case status today and it's touched today Sept 20. And still in initial review!!!..:( I thought it's gonna be a good news but it's not though..:(.still the same...so USCIS works weekends?
