I spoke with the NVC and they told me I need a German Police check despite being told twice by the US Embassy in London that it was covered by my RAF record of service.

I have just printed off the documents and have now to take these to the local Police Station for Authorisation. Then a DHL package to Germany.

Add to that stress we now have the threat of UK Postal Strikes.

Richard... SO sorry! That is incredibly frustrating. I hope you are able to get the certificate quickly and that things move forward fast. I know you don't want to be in temporary housing very long!!

I am very nervous that we will have something missing. With M&D living in so many different places I expect they will want something we haven't provided even though we have already sent 10 police certificates with the original DS-230.

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

Richard I am so confused as to why they are asking for a police certificate for your time in Germany. My Dad was stationed in Germany from 1964 to 1974 and he never had to provide a police report just his Army Record of Service. My Mom had to get a police certificate for the time she was in germany as she was not covered by Dad's Army Record.

I would chalange NVC about the need for a police certificate because it clearly states:-

The Embassy will accept a copy of your military record or discharge papers for any country were you might have served while in the HM Forces. The Embassy will accept a letter from the Foreign and Commonwealth office in lieu of police certificates for any country were you may have served for the British Government.

i was wondering why NVC is taking soooo long to acknowledge receipt of my Dad's Ds-3032???, he emailed on 9/4/09, i also mail hard copies this week. :unsure:

**Helping my brother with his F2A visa petition for his wife in Ecuador*

USCIS PROCESS

  • 3/24/15 - sent I-130 package via FedEx priority
  • 4/04/15 - NOA1 received
  • 5/07/15 - NOA2 received **Priority date 3/25/15**
  • 6/09/15 - NVC email with case & invoice # (no further processing until case is current)
  • 1/20/16 - NVC welcome letter rcvd , along with AOS invoice
  • 1/21/16 - Agent of choice sent
  • 2/02/16 - IV Fee invoice rcvd
  • 2/05/16 - Paid AOS & IV Fees
  • 2/10/16 - DS-260 completed and submitted
  • 2/10/16 - AOS & Civil supporting docs sent to NVC via FedEx
  • 2/12/16 - docs arrived to NVC
  • 2/17/16 - NVC Scan Date (letter via email stating all docs rcvd on 2/12 , will take 30 days to review docs.)
  • 3/15/16 - Case Complete via phone
  • 3/22/16 - Case Complete via email
  • xx/xx/xx Interview Date Received

I've sent my I-130 for my parents in April 07, it's been almost 150 days, just received NOA1 and my address change update.

The CSC timeline shows 5 months for I-130 for IR-5, is it time to hit the panic button yet?? :angry:

Hi ptrober, I would suggest you speak to an NVC operator to find it out. I found out the RFE one day before we received it - an NVC operator told me that we have missing information and she told me that it's the petitioner's birth certificate.

Cinthia, it takes about 2 weeks for NVC to acknowledge receipt of DS-3032 by e-mail. I also sent in by e-mail about your time and just got replied by e-mail yesterday. Give them a til mid week next week, then call them if not received.

Hello everybody,

I am still waiting to see if NVC approves or send me an RFE on DS 230 for my parents. I mailed them the packages last thrursday and they entered to the system on monday 09/14.....

Sorry Richard to hear that, but I am sure you would do it fast and mail the required paperwork to NVC in no time.

  • 3/24/15 - sent I-130 package via FedEx priority
  • 4/04/15 - NOA1 received
  • 5/07/15 - NOA2 received **Priority date 3/25/15**
  • 6/09/15 - NVC email with case & invoice # (no further processing until case is current)
  • 1/20/16 - NVC welcome letter rcvd , along with AOS invoice
  • 1/21/16 - Agent of choice sent
  • 2/02/16 - IV Fee invoice rcvd
  • 2/05/16 - Paid AOS & IV Fees
  • 2/10/16 - DS-260 completed and submitted
  • 2/10/16 - AOS & Civil supporting docs sent to NVC via FedEx
  • 2/12/16 - docs arrived to NVC
  • 2/17/16 - NVC Scan Date (letter via email stating all docs rcvd on 2/12 , will take 30 days to review docs.)
  • 3/15/16 - Case Complete via phone
  • 3/22/16 - Case Complete via email
  • xx/xx/xx Interview Date Received
  • xx/xx/xx NVC shipped out case to Embassy
  • Embassy
