Hey great news .. can you please advise what were the papers she took with her to the embassy ? as I have my interview in a week .. please advise .. thanx

Thanks HaigDB,

So, just so you know our situation she is 18 year-old unmarried daughter so she is filling through my wife (the USC) who is her legal parent in the eyes of the US legal system as we were married before she turned 18. We have still to remove conditions as ours was a K-1 visa originally (1 month till the window opens).

She brought 2 passport photos as advised (not used and returned to her), she brought her passport, she brought personal family photos of us all (not asked for), and that was it.

They had gotten everything else directly to the NVC and I didn't send back up copies of things like her police cert with her (but not a bad idea to I guess).

Also, they told her she needed to send in a copy of my gree card, front and rear, so if you are going on a similar visa then make sure you bring a copy of your relative's green card - even if they are not the petitioner (I'm not)!!!

Hope that helps.

R.

Good luck. I know your parents can make it. My mom was asked only 3 questions:

1. What's my work

2. Who is Mr. XYZ(my husband's name)

3. My mom's marital status

CFO means Commission on Filipino Overseas.... This is a requirement for the Filipino holding Philippine passport when they immigrate to other countries.

Hey guys,

My mom's case is plodding along. I've updated her timeline below and I have some questions (need urgent assistance on this) and some tips below.

Questions (please feel free to IM me for answers/tips/pointers):

1. My Mom has issues with NBI clearance issuance. Is it wise NOT to include the NBI clearance with the DS-230 packet and just show the NBI clearance during the interview? Will this cause delay if NVC issues RFE for this and if so, how long?

2. Does a dismissed case pose any issue about granting of immigrant visa as long as there is a case disposition document?

Tips:

1. The AOS Document Cover Sheet, which NVC is supposed to send "within 6 weeks" upon receipt of AOS payment, is actually available for download on the Receipt tab of the Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center website (https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/signon.aspx). The buttons for it (Print Document Cover Sheet, Email Document Cover Sheet) are not available until the bill is marked PAID. Too bad I did not notice this - I could have sent the AOS packet last week! I wish the AOS receipt and NVC IVR had this info.

2. It is possible that NVC sends a SECOND "ACL Universal" package to the beneficiary (via email using the email addresses supplied to the NVC agent) that contains the DS-3032 packet. I got one on 10/21/10 and 10/29/10. I thought NVC rejected the DS-3032 response email (and later via postal mail, wherein I sent a blank and previously-signed DS-3032 and just attached the barcode and case #) - but that was not the case per check with NVC agent. So if you get it a second time - don't panic and call NVC instead.

Hope these help.

regards,

Fred
