I don't know if this is the right place to post this. Please let me know if I should be posting this in another place.

I'm a US Citizen (was born in Cameroon) and about 7 years ago, I filed an I130 petition for my sister , who is older than 21. The application was filed out of Raleigh, NC. The case was moved from Vermont to California.

In September 2009, they sent the following note:

Application Type: I130 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN

Current Status: This case has been sent to our local office for processing.

On September 15, 2009, we transferred this case to our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location for additional processing. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register

I went to the Immigration in Raleigh a couple of months ago to check on the status. They told me, the case is currently in Charlotte, NC.

I went to Charlotte last month to check and one of the clerks looked into the computer and she didn't give me a clear answer. All she said is, her papers are being worked on.

Does anyone have any recent experience with I130 for IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN? If so, how long was the wait period. I understand the waiting time can be long ... but how long? Anyone has any recent experience?

Any input appreciated.

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

I have a question regarding to DS -3032 . Could I send the DS- 3032 right after the case assigned without receiving the Ds-3032 packet with AOS fee bill ? I mean that I can write down the case # in the Ds 3032 and send them even when I haven't received my Ds-3032 packet. :innocent:

09/23/2009 - Sent I-130 For My Parents to Chicago Lockbox.

09/25/2009 - USCIS received I-130.

09/30/2009 - Received NOA1

02/01/2010 - Touch.

02/02/2010 - both my parents got Touch.

02/03/2010 - Touch.

02/16/2010 - email approved for Mom's case.

02/18/2010 - email approved for Dad's case.

02/20/2010 - hard copy NOA2 for Mom.

Completed with USCIS

NVC

02/25/2010 - got case's assigned NVC numbers for both parent.

03/02/2010 - received AOS and DS 3032 packet in email.

03/02/2010 - paid AOS fee and sent DS 3032 by email.

03/04/2010 - received accepted letter for DS 3032 in email.

03/05/2010 - received IV packet's fee letter in email.

03/05/2010 - paid IV packet's fee.

Do you suggest any place for photo in karachi and bahawalpur?

no idea. Like i said you should call the US consulate/embessy and ask them what place they recommend. Thats what I did.

I am also getting affidavat for my wife inleiu of birth certificate. She was born in saudi arabia and unable to get her bc from anywhere in pakistan.

No idea again. For this one, call NVC and see what they say or ask others here and see what response you get from people who have similar cases

. She lives in same district but two different cities therefore I will need one police character certificate, right?

You will need TWO. one from each address. One for each address. you will see what i mean when you see the form. there is only one address line on it (at least the islamabad and mianwali one's) . One for each address since she was 16 years old and if she lived at the address for more than 6 months

Should I have her send me all the original document to send with nvc?

YES. you will need to send in originals + a copy set of all documents.

Where should I certified/Attested the documents in pakistan?

Now this is just a guess but gazetted officers have the ability to attest documents. Again call NVC or embessy in pk to find out exactly who's documents they accept.

Good luck and hope you go through this without problems. its not very difficult and you should be fine. the only thing is the hassle of getting the docs together.

I believe that will not be a very good idea. Caz NVC process documents in different stages, if u send any document to NVC which were not requested by them might make delays on your case processing. good luck.

I never received a confirmation for registering emails. But received AOS Fee Bill and DS-3032 package within a day.

Yoo-hoo, my emailed DS-3032 template was just accepted (NVC notified me through email). I have just paid IV Fee Bill. Off to filling out DS-230 now.

You will not receive confirmation email from NVC but you will get email about DS-3032 and AOS fee via emails in couple of days time.....and now the communication is through emails which is very fast compared to snail mails.....

Check signatures of few members here and you will know the timeline.....

If you dont get emails in 2 or 3 days...call them and check them if they registered emails correctly.....

You will use the template to send the DS-3032 via email and you will print the email that you are sending and write the NVC case number on the top and this should work....as most of the members here did the same.....

Well I got an update on my case. my mother went to the interview and she passed :dance::dance: . she is going to pick up her visa on the 16th of march and we are working on getting her here with us on the 18th or 19th.

I thank everyone on visa journey for their help and to the ower of the website, a huge shout because this place is such a great help. good luck to everyone who is in the process of bringing a relative in.
