Hi,

Just wondering if anyone who is waiting for their NOA2 for I-130 has heard anything from USCIS lately? Any touches?

Does anyone know if it is normal to get touched before the NOA2 or does that usually not happen?

No, pay the bill. Wait for it to clear. Print out the barcoded cover sheet. And send in your DS230 package. No need to wait for NVC to send you any thing.

is ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE of PETITIONER and copy of it necessary?

how did not send the ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE of PETITIONER and no problem?

These are missing from your list..

DS-230 DOCUMENT COVER SHEET

ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE of PETITIONER and ofcourse copy of it

ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE of PETITIONER and copy of it

2 Photographs instead of 4 ( name of beneficiary and NVC Case # on the back of the photos)

No need to send in your Passport copy (if u want you can but it is not necessary or required)

Just look in here once again for required documents with DS-230

ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE is required. If you dont send copy of the same than that shouldnt be a problem as smithjohnatpa sent only ORIGINALS and not copies of any ORIGINALS he sent and his parents case is approved.

If you didnt send ORIGINAL MC then you might get an RFE as it is required document.

I thought only my parents' marriage ceritficate is required in this case. Why do they need my marriage certificate? i only have one original, i really don't want to send it if i don't have to.

You asked for advice and Raj gave you a very good answer. Even the website of Department of State specifies that

Petitioner Documents

Applicants in the following visa categories are required to provide 1) an original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s birth certificate and 2) original or certified copy of their Petitioner’s marriage certificate from the Petitioner’s current and all previous marriages.

Parent of a U.S. Citizen who is at least 21 years old (IR-5)

Brothers and sisters of United States citizens (F4)

Everyone here follows the instructions and got their cases done right. We here don't make the rule.

You may want to take your questions to the operators or take your own risk of not submitting your original marriage certificate.

Another option is to obtain a certified copy of your marriage certificate from where it was issued.

and also has anyone experienced that long wait since i am approaching my 4th month with no contact about my I-130 beside the NOA after it has been mailed back in September 2009?

Hi Swahby25.

We waited 16 weeks for our NOA-2. It is terribly frustrating but it eventually comes and then life becomes very very busy.

The best advice I can give is concentrate on getting everything else prepared for when your case reaches NVC to minimise any waiting there.
