Does anybody know when in the process do you know if you're be having to do a DNA test or not? because a friend of mine told me i might have to do one because he had to do one with his mother about three years ago when they were doing thier(because we had the same birth certificate situation).

See the thing is, we had to re-do my mom birthcertificate because they misspell her lastname on my birth certificate and because of that people are telling me i will/might have to do one. (hope i am making sense here)

any input/suggestion?

I received e-mail about interview and had some questions that you could help. The list of required documents has certain "Dcoument Status" and I need help to confirm what my parents still need to bring to the interview:

Immigration Visa Application Y

Birth Certificate O

DS-230 Part II F

Which "Document Status" still requires to bring either original or photocopy to the interview?

Please advise. Thanks.

My mom got her immigration visa today in Russian Embassy in Moscow. All I now that altogether it took her only two hours and the interview itself took only 5 minutes. She was asked only one question. I'll try to post details later

Only documents with status of "A" need to be brought to the interview.

However, I still ask my parents to bring copies of all documents submitted with DS-230 to the interview just in case.

When NVC asks for petitioners birth certificate and marriage and divorce cert. Can i send certified ( noterized ) copies ? what if I submit originals ? how they will return them to me ? during interview at consulate ?

Send them Originals and also copies of all the Originals you are sending to NVC and they will return them at the time of Interview.

On the last page of the Interview Letter you received lists the "Document Status Description"

Y = The required document has been received and accepted.

O = The original document has been received and accepted as meeting post

requirements.

F = This form is not necessary for this application.

Only if it says "A" the description below...you need to take them...otherwise you should be good.....

A = Applicant must acquire this document and present it at the time of the interview.
