As for me, I am right now with my daughter but now turning desesperate because no interview date has been scheduled for her case yet Really looking formard to have and interviewed in January, I really hope.

IR5 category parents who comes to US - what kind of green card do they get? is it conditional? or 10 yrs validity? fyi - they are coming for first time in USA.

HI guys,

My parents went today for interview and the counsular request it more paper likecourt paper ( if applicant is criminal or something like this) and a bunch of other documentations which some of them i did submit it but they needed translate and notorized (which as per NVC they dont need them translate and notorized).

i feel like crying its 5 am and im writing this so dissapointed. The counsular didnt hold the passports they told my parents to make ready this papers and bring them until Thursday. im not sure what to say anymore. its been like 6 moths running ther and there to get this papers andin the end they need more . im so upset . hope for best .

Does anybody know if they have a right to denial forever this visa or do you think if they will get the visa after the papework as submit it?(maybe doesnt make sense but im so upset)

Hi Nela

They will not deny the visa if you send the documents. If you have put something on DS-230 about court then they will ask for it. If they do no have any record, trafiic tickets, etc then they should be fine. Have the other documents translated and notarized and your parents can take them in. They will review just those documents and probably issue the visa the same day.

Thanks so much for your replay it realy make feel better. all the paparork that they request it its done and my parent will go tomorrow ( in the mean time todaythey did the fingerprints sing part 2 of ds230 so basically everything) lets what happened i will update. i wish for you the best i know that calling NVC operator its nightmare nobody gives you a same answer. let us know how it went. thanks so much for your input. i forgot please send other documentation original cuz you never know with them they are pain in the neck. even whenever yoour parent gonna go for interview tell them to get certificate docmentation for themself cuz in my case the lost my parents marriage certificate and some of the paper that i submit it they want it notorized like police certificate and military paper for my dad . thanks

Based on earlier posts, they will stamp on the passport at the time of POE and it is valid for 1 year and then they will get the GC in the mail and it is valid for 10 years. Hope this helps. When do your parents have interview in Mumbai?

10 years green card , then they can apply after 5 years for citizenship.

So i talked to two different people when i called the NVC about translating my documents and they told me that i don't need too because all that will be going to my country where it is a french speaking language. which make sense because on the website under translation, it is stated that you need to translate all documents if they are NOT IN ENGLISH AND THE NATIVE LANGUAGE FROM WHICH THE APPLICANT IS RECEIVING HIS/HER VISA FROM. however after reading nela post i am confused and scared now

Good luck with your parents interview. I am sure that they will receive visas as soon as they provide those documents. I have sent originals to NVC. I hope nothing will be lost. If something is lost that will delay process alot, we will have to get duplicates.

My lawer submitted inquire for previous marriage certificate and she will get some kind of paperwork from Justice Ministry about 1st marriage, dates, names, act#.

According to that country laws you can not get the previous marriage certificate. They will just provide a document which will have the required info. NVC will have to complete the case and send to the embassy. Please update after submission of paperwork. I have submitted notarized certified english translations for all civil documents.

According per NVC they require original documents or certied copies, in my case for my parents idid submit to NVC all original documents none translate and certified but when my parents for intreview in my country consular needed all documents(wich i did submit like Marriage certificate (was mislaid in my case as well,translate notorized) Police certificate (translate notorized)military certificate (translate nototrized) . so if you didnt notorized prepare some for parents when they go for interview. hope helps.

P.s Im still waiting for my parents to give me a call now in this moment they are in consular in albania.
