Hi Tay,

Turned out the RFE for my mom's case was about my Original Birth Certificate due to my first name change in Naturalization, even though I had sent in the copy of the Petition for Name Change + USC Certificate when submitting I-130s. Will send the requested document today along with some proofs.

Domi22 it is good that you now know what the RFE was about, it does not look like its going to delay you too much. I would make sure you send the requested Doc by overnight mail, I used USPS Express mail, it got there by 8:00am the next day.

Hello, I've got a few questions about this process we're a bit confused about ---

What's the difference between the DS-230 and 3032 forms (DS-230 biographic info, 3032 other forms that come in the mail after handing in 230 or am I wrong)? Am I (petitioner) supposed to be handling those or my mom? (she is doing her side of the forms herself). We've paid both the IV and AOS fee since we got email notices to do so, but I haven't sent in the I-864 yet (waiting on a letter of employment to arrive in mail). Should we wait to even send in that or the DS-230 --- I'm unsure of whether or not the email notices with the fees to pay count as "authorization from NVC" as specified on website, where it says Warning: Do not take any action described above without authorization from the NVC. Taking action without the NVC's authorization could result in a delay in processing your case.

The DS-230 is the application for immigrant visa.

The DS-3032 is the Choice of Agent form.

If you have already paid the AOS fee and the IV fee then you need to send the I-864 (AOS) and the DS-230 (IV) to the NVC for processing.

The Person nominated on the Choice of Agent form is the person who should be sending the forms to NVC. If your Mom is doing them herself then she need to mail them to NVC.

Yes you need to send the I-864 with all the supporting documents and your Mom will need to do the DS-230, make sure she includes your birth certificate, if your name has changes since your birth then she will need to include marriage certificates and divorce certificates for you as well or any other document that shows your legal name change. If any document is not in english then it will need to be translated and the translation and the original will need to be included.

Thanks ChinaBabe for the info.

I received I-797C (Notice of Action) from CSC on 09/05/09 for both my parents and it has a different WAC# and i entered the new number on USCIS web site and now i am able to see both of them online.

The following are the details on this receipt:

Received Date: 08/27/09

Notice Date: 09/01/2009

Priority Date: NULL

Will i get another letter with the priority date? Also is this NOA1 letter or will i get any other letter that says NOA1 with the date. Please let me know.

If this ND is the NOA1 date then please update my details along with CSC.

Don't worry. When i got my WAC# on the back of the check i tried to check on the uscis website too, but it didn't work. Few days later i got the NOA1, turn out the receipt number on the NOA1 is different than the one shows on the back of the check. your NOA1 should be in the mail.

Hello All,

I checked my bank account today(09/03/09) and saw both the checks got cleared yesterday(09/02/09). Also i checked the image of the check and on the back of the check i can see the WAC#(10 digit # starting with 093xxxxxxx) and date of 09/01/09. Does this mean they assigned the receipt number for both my parents (both the numbers are in order).

Please let me know if anyone has seen this information on the checks and if that was the receipt number.
