Hi,

I received approval for my wife's I-130. I'm starting to gather the necessary information and fill out the DS 230 for my wife and step children. I haven't received approval for the children yet since I sent their I-130 payment a few weeks after my wife's. Will my wife and her children be reunited in the visa process at NVC?

When filling out the children's DS 230, I realized that I need a few clarifications.

1. Who signs the children's DS 230?

2. What happens if the children's father is unavailable? For example, I need his current address according to question 16.

3. Should I include each school they attended or only the schools where they graduation or received a certificate?

Thanks in advance.

Dillan

1) Wife signs for children DS-230 if children are under age.

2) Most consulates or embassies will require father's consent in writing allowing children to immigrate.

3) Schools graduated from or currently attending.

Since I-130's were filed separately, they may have interviews at different times, so mother may interview, and perhaps wait a few weeks and then children will interview later.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I appreciate your help.

I have a few follow-up questions.

For the children's DS 230, would their occupation be student or N/A?

Would N/A be used for the spousal information also?

Thanks again.

We put Student and luckly the children only attended one school the whole time. Dillan, as far as the childrens father being unavailble I suggest you start looking into finding him. ,In Colombia the children will not be allowed to leave the country without his permission. DAS will stop them at the airport. They need a letter to be signed and authorized in Bogota for them to be able to leave the country.

Remember though this permission will be needed every time the child goes back to colombia and leaves without one of the parents.

See this link here http://www.consuladodecolombiany.com/new_p...rmisosmenor.htm for info from the Colombian website here in the US. When my step kids left there mom happened to be here in the US. We did the letter and then it had to be stamped only in Bogota which thank goodness they were already going. When the 16 year went back we had to send the letter to a family member in Bogota to get it stamped ( for his dads signature ) so he could lkeave again.

We also received an RFE from the NVC stating they needed a notorized letter allowing the Children to immigrate to the US , this letter was needed from the boys Mom. I will also PM this info to you.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?
