Is that what I wrote BY? I somehow think not.

of course that is never what you wrote.

Typical conversation with six:

Pike: I don't like Milk products

Me: So you don't eat cheese?

Pike No I never said that

Edited by Constellation

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Why is it 'about time'? It's a tragedy, but I didn't realize that we were obligated to post anything in OT, let alone things that you personally rate as more tragic than other things.

Every heard of MSNBC? Oh I forgot you don't read US media. You only comment on it.

"We lose officers about every 57 hours in this country," said Chuck Canterbury, president of the national Fraternal Order of Police. "But seldom do you have one of this magnitude."

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29817606/?GT1=43001

Don't start on the 'rights' issues again BY. Everyone is entitled to be treated fairly, even people living in predominantly black or 'hispanic' communities.

What about these officers right to be alive? Or their families right to have a husband or a father or a brother or a child? Or should that be on the back burner in your opinion?

I am sure this sort of stuff happened all of the time in the UK.

As I said 'in the other thread' I don't listen to or watch mainstream media. Strangely, PBS, and the numerous online US newspapers that I read all report on current stories, weird, huh? Even odder, foreign news also picks up a lot of these stories. Who knew?

BY, the principal of human rights is that no one's rights are more important, or less important than anyone else's. Any deviation from that principal leads you into totalitarian territory.

Dude we can sit here and play these games all day. After all I am the one on $110 an hour. Yourself?

That's probably like the '57 cops killed in Oakland every day' comment, ie $110 a day :)

Or a week? You choose

I know I didn't that write either.

LOL As I said before, journalism / writing is the easiest course to get into at my old college. Now I know why.

Maybe you'll get this example:

Six: High power guns are a concern in this case

Me: So you basically blaming the guns rather than the user

Six: No I never said that

Hmmm. I didn't write that either.

But hell - if one can make $110 an hour with an attention span and attention to detail as horrible as yours - there's surely hope for the rest of us.

Actually I said 57 hours and provided a link. Then again what would "Chuck Canterbury, president of the national Fraternal Order of Police" know when compared to Madam Cleo.

Hence the word 'example' you missed.

Ah, the relevance escapes you even yet Mr BY. Rock on dude.

Ah, the relevance escapes you even yet Mr BY. Rock on dude.

The relevance is that when you are going to attack and accuse someone of something, at least use the facts rather than making stuff up.

You basically said I pulled the stats out of my azz. The statement from Chuck Canterbury, president of the national Fraternal Order of Police suggests otherwise.

He shot and killed two SWAT members using an assault rifle. Those guys are heavily armored. Why do gun advocates want assault rifles to be legal? Makes no sense.

steven, a .22 can kill a swat officer if the shooter is accurate. head shots always kill.

We'll find out more about this in the weeks ahead, but Charles, I seriously doubt he was able to hit 2 SWAT members with a shot to the head. Also, that assault rifle may have been modified to be fully automatic. I'll be interested to see how he obtained the weapon.

head shots aren't the norm in a gun battle anyways.

I carry a gun because a cop is too heavy.

*shrugs* Your example wasn't very relevant to anything I posted here.

PS Jealousy is a curse mate. Now get back to publishing.

I love how you look down on what I do yet you don't even know what it is specifically that I do, or how good (or not) I am at it.

Feel free to speculate to your heart's content - in the end it says more about you than it does about me. I have my own opinion on the sort of person who feels that they have to announce some arbitrary hourly rate to justify their continued prescence on a public message board.

Even if you're not lying, you clearly have some insecurities if you think that you need to promote yourself like that in order to validate your opinions.

You made a mistake BY, you said that all these cops died in Oakland. I didn't make that up. Now, as for the stats you did cite, I am not sure how they are relevant to the current topic. Perhaps you can enlighten?

My example is to your responses in 9 out of 10 threads you post in. Which you have done so here. Where you insinuate something then turn around and deny it. Which of course goes hand in hand with your side-line, lack of stance on anything, approach on issues. Boy are you first to condemn others for having a stance of course.

Even within the article, that statistic was used to show how rare of an event this is in Oakland, specifically, they had never lost more than one officer at a time.

What happened in Oakland was a Tragedy, whenever someone is Murdered it's always a Tragedy. These officers were doing their work, They are Fathers, Brothers, Sons of many.

When it comes down to the GHETTO comments, it has nothing to do with the tragedy, just a few weeks ago when an officer shot and killed this young man at the Bart station in Cold blood. My younger brother is a cop so i know the kind of stress they go through, but you have to keep your head in your shoulder and take responsibility for your own actions.

I grew up in Malborough Project when I was a kid, It was home, and there's no better place like home. people whose not from the neighborhood might feel scared but as long as you were not involved in the illegal activities happening around, nobody will bother you and in that madness there's some order in that disorder, kinda hard to explain. If you see a little one doing something you can tell him, hey i am gona tell your mom, you shouldn't do that, it doesn't work in all cases but there are a lot of nice, honest, hardworking family living in the Ghetto. Later on we moved on to another project called Gravesend in Coney Island, Neptune Ave, same story it was home and we never felt scared, I parked my car on the street, Not once it ever got stolen or vandalized.

I had part time job where i would take the subway, B train, F train, Q train and D train to last exit (Coney island), i get home after midnight, not once I ever felt scared taking the subway or walking home. Later on we bought a house in Queens, Whenever i go to NY that's one of the 1st place i dropped by, even after moving to Queens, CONEY ISLAND ALWAYS REMAINS HOME!!!

"We lose officers about every 57 hours in this country

I live in the bay area and I can tell you WHOEVER that make this comment has no idea what's he's talking about, SHOW ME THE FOOTAGE OR FACTS.

IT"S ALL BS TRYING TO MAKE A POINT

There's nothing particularly "cultural" about violence. The American Italian mafia is almost synonymous with NYC (less so these days), but I rather think that there's a heck of a lot of American Italians here who have no involvement with it whatsoever.

So why don't you go live in one of these ghettos then if crime is isolated and does not reflect a culture or community. I'll pay for your moving costs.

The statement was that one Police officer dies every 57 hours in this country nationally. Not that Oakland PD lose one of their officers every 57 hours.

It takes a special kind of mathematical genius to read the former and infer the latter.
