Hang on a minute. If anyone is tough enough to start the fire, they should be tough enough to accept the consequences if they get burned. It's one thing if I came into a thread and was racist without any reason or provocation. Yet another when someone gets extremely personal. In the later, all bets are off. And vice versa. How many times have I reported Steven or others for racial oriented comments. Big Fat Zero. To this day Steven has been the only cry baby to come here and write a thread about his feelings and being ganged up on. Haven't forgot about that one.

I am not the big baby here who, for example, intentionally trips someone yet runs and cries when they want to knock me out. If I am man enough to trip them, I am man enough to receive the punches.

As I have said before, if anyone hates me or wants to talk ###### about me, then we should meet up personally so they can tell it to my face.

Apples to oranges. Assault rifles can fire off much faster and with more accuracy than high powered handgun and from a much farther distance.

Look, when the police are calling for assault rifle ban, then you know they have legitimate concerns for their safety as well that of citizens. It's really not that difficult to see the potential threat. And if you think any projectile weapon should be legal, why not allow missile launchers? Tanks? Reasonable regulations can and will be instituted...without any constitutional challenge. The gun lobby knows that which is why they focus their efforts on PR to scare citizens into thinking that the government wants to take away their guns. Pure fear mongering. In the meantime, police officers are dying.

yes, assault rifles can fire faster, but that's usually known as spray and pray. assault rifles are hindered in close quarters too.

So the perpetrator in this case barricaded himself in an apartment. Do you really think he would have been able to kill two heavily armored SWAT members as well as injuring a third one with anything other than an assault rifle? Because, if so, our police and SWAT are f##ked anytime someone wants to barricade themselves in building. Might as well bomb the building or fire rockets into it.

About two hours after the first shooting, after some 200 officers from Oakland Police, Alameda County Sheriff's Office, BART Police and the California Highway Patrol combed the area for Mixon, three SWAT officers were shot when their team found him hidden in an apartment on 74th Avenue near Hillside Street, police officials said.

Mixon's sister, Enjoli Mixon, lived in the two-bedroom apartment with her 4-year-old daughter, but said she was not home at the time. However, another sibling, 16-year-old Reynete Mixon, was at the apartment, where she had been sleeping.

Reynete said today that she did not see or hear her brother come in. She said she was in the bathroom when police officers bashed in the front door down, causing her to drop to the floor. The officers ran toward her, she said, shouting and throwing small bombs that shredded her pajama bottoms and caused her legs to bleed.

Soon, she said, she ran out of the apartment. As officers moved her across the street, she said she heard gunfire.

"I thought off the top that he was dead," Reynete said of her brother.

Police said an anonymous tipster told them that Mixon was in the apartment building. The SWAT team was called to the site and took control of the area around the building. After repeated attempts to communicate with Mixon, police said, SWAT officers entered the building around 3:30 p.m.

According to law enforcement sources, the SWAT team officers entered an apartment and approached a closet. Suddenly Mixon, hiding in the closet, opened fire through the door, killing two officers and wounding a third. Officers fired back, killing the gunman.
