Apples to oranges. Assault rifles can fire off much faster and with more accuracy than high powered handgun and from a much farther distance.

Look, when the police are calling for assault rifle ban, then you know they have legitimate concerns for their safety as well that of citizens. It's really not that difficult to see the potential threat. And if you think any projectile weapon should be legal, why not allow missile launchers? Tanks? Reasonable regulations can and will be instituted...without any constitutional challenge. The gun lobby knows that which is why they focus their efforts on PR to scare citizens into thinking that the government wants to take away their guns. Pure fear mongering. In the meantime, police officers are dying.

yes, assault rifles can fire faster, but that's usually known as spray and pray. assault rifles are hindered in close quarters too.

So the perpetrator in this case barricaded himself in an apartment. Do you really think he would have been able to kill two heavily armored SWAT members as well as injuring a third one with anything other than an assault rifle? Because, if so, our police and SWAT are f##ked anytime someone wants to barricade themselves in building. Might as well bomb the building or fire rockets into it.

absolutely.

So then SWAT teams are committing suicide by storming into a building whenever someone has gun of any kind? Do you have any advice for them?

Why would I do that BY. You've proven that the only voice you want to hear is your own.

The following posts of yours in this thread suggest otherwise

9, 11, 15, 20, 22, 25, 30, 32, 35, 40

Gave up after post 40 as there are just too many posts where your main goal is obviously to throw out the usual rubbish.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Why take the risk that he might survive in the rubble. Here's how to be sure...

It's like arguing with a rock.

Your the one who has a fit when someone doesn't bow down to your conversational level. Remember, your buddy Alex+R used to pull the same #######. Where the second you didn't discuss what she wanted or the angle she wanted to discuss, she threw out the insults.

Which in this case you are clearly blaming the weapon (high power riffle) rather than the perpetrator. Another reason you spit the dummy is because your hypocrisy is caught out. Like you are pro legalizing drugs and are against the old prohibition but are for restricting guns. I'm guessing in your brain this is not moronic..

I always wondered about that - if the arguments in support of the 2nd amendment should apply to nuclear proliferation. Nukes seem a better deterrent than guns.

Yep. The litter box is getting pretty smelly...I think BY has an intestinal parasite.

Yep. Ask a gun advocate what they think about that?
