Both of my petitions (I 129 and I 130) got approved yesterday. My question is which path should I take now? Should I go with the CR1 or continue with the K3

From what I have read on VJ, everyone usually says go for the CR1 - it make take a little longer but at least you can work as soon as you arrive. Apparently it also works out to be cheaper in the long run. That's what we did. We dropped the K3 and went with the IR-1.

CR1 better in long run plus greencard upon arrival in us.

K3 is expensive in long run plus need to apply for AOS/EAD in us.

I suggest go for CR1, if you follow LingChe's shorcut for NVC process and have all documents ready you can be finish with NVC pretty quick.

NVC will send out an I-864 Request and fee bill to petitioner, respond to it quickly, also gather the required docs for sending to NVC when they request them.

If K-3 paperwork arrives at consulate if consulate does P-3, P-4 simply delay responding to P3 until NVC sends compleated I-130 packet to consulate for CR-1. IF Not, you can postpone the K-3 interview, or interview for K-3, and simply wait for CR-1 interview, and then interview for CR-1.

I prefer CR1/IR1 path as it cost less, there is not much time difference from K-3 (usually 2-3 weeks difference) which cost more, and later you have to deal with USCIS again for EAD and GC.

First step for CR1/IR1 (I-130), you should get NVC case # by calling (603) 334-0700 and then beneficiary to send e-mail about DS-3032 (http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form.).

I tried the I-130 but they went with I-129 anyway. They were aproved at the same time, 11 months later.

I noticed many people have received news of approvals for their visas of I-130 within about less than 70 days of filing.

I of coarse am still waiting, and have not received any news from USCIS as of yet.

Is there something that maybe I have done incorrectly? Thanks.

Don't worry, I am still waiting too. I have found you can't really compare your time to anyone else's. There doesn't seem to be any logic as to when they approve the NOA2's.

Yep, still within the timeframe, then it doesn't pay to call. But do call AFTER the timeframe is up. They are professional but can only do so much.
