Current Annual Income: 2009 or 2008?

Since its only March 2009, how do we put the current annual income for 2009 since the year is not yet over.

Regarding my co sponsor(dad in law). He is a seaman and just got home from the ship last month of February. How can we put his current annual income in 1864A if there's no exact date for him when to be back again to the ship.

Can someone help me about this matter?

05-01-2014 Got the 2 case numbers. (21 days)

06-27-2014 RFE for I864 and I864A (i left the Place of residence blank, 26 days from the date they received the AOS)

06-30-2014 NVC received the AOS corrected forms


07-01-2014 Received IV Bill Invoice, paid.

I struggled with this question a lot. My employment letter only shows year-to-date income for 09 so it was difficult for me to justify where I got the # if I put 09 income by some calculation. I wanted to avoid sticky notes explaining anything. So, I finally decided just to put 08 income since that's the one shown on my employment letter for entire year. If anything my 09 income will definitely be higher even with no raise so they shouldn't have problem.

It depends. The word "current" is pretty clear. As a general rule if income is stable, use last year's total income for hourly folks and the self-employed. For the salaried, it's oke to do that or if you just got a raise, put in your "current" annual salary. There's really no one size fits all solution.

Kat it is pretty clear. For both persons.

1. Include 2007 tax return.

2. Include any and all pay stubs from this year.

END OF STORY.

Of course, if you want to help (or hurt??) your case, include tax returns from '05 and '06 too. If you do not hurry, past April 15th you will also be requred to include 2008 tax return. Again that might hurt or help you depencding on if they made any money or not last year.
