...but what are ACCO fasteners????

It is a metal bracket that goes through two holes that have been punched out in the top of your documents and it holds them all together. You can find them at office supply stores.

Not Dumb... I GOOGLED it. ACCO is a brand name. Looks like folder fasteners or could be paper clips. If you putting a package together for USCIS I would suggest just paper clips. Thats what I used. :)

No. You're not dumb. There is no dumb question. If you don't understand something, please feel free to ask. We're here to help or get help, we're not here to judge, well, at least that's what I'm doing here, can't represent others.

To answer your question, please see this website: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&...eners&gbv=2 . What do you say? A picture is better than a thousand words. Google is your friend. You can google image: ACCO fasterner.

Also here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD .

In preparing your packet, please take note of the following:

-Do not use binders or folders that cannot be easily disassembled.

-Use ACCO fasteners to hold together thick or bulky applications or petitions. Two-hole punching the top of the material for easy placement in the file is appreciated.

-The use of tabs assist in locating items listed as attachments. The tabs should be placed on the bottom and not the side for ease in filing.

-Avoid using heavy-duty staples; instead use ACCO fasteners or heavy clips.

-Avoid submitting originals unless specifically required. Avoid submitting oversized documentation when possible.

Oh ACCO!My husband bought other brand but I insisted that everyone here in VJ recommends ACCO we just ordered it online...

I too insisted to use this brand (my husband thought I'm crazy  ) but I can't find it in the local store - I end up inserting my documents in paper protectors and bound it in a 3-hole plastic folder. When my packet was returned by the USCIS to change the I-751 form to the latest revision . . . bingo! My file was neatly bound by an ACCO fastener in the exact order the way I sent it

My husband really thought I'm nuts - I was more delighted to see ACCO fastener in my I-751 file than receiving the NOA 3 days after I sent it back and the biometric appointment that follows :no::rofl:

Never ever say never

They go by other names as well. It's pretty much a staple in office environments, esp. in government positions. That and the 45 min. coffee breaks, LOL!

I actually used this type of ACCO clip. It was just my option even if they do say they like two hole punching.
