hey i have a question regarding packet 3...im still a little far from this step but i want to get ready even now.....i understand my fiancee who is getting the visa has to fill out the forms in packet 3 but sign them at the embassy...so could my lawyer go ahead and fill out all the paperwork and gather all the documents and send them out or does my fiancee have 2 do everything??? thanks so much

sure, your lawyer can fill out the forms.. if the form says it needs to be signed in front of a CO then don't sign until the interview...

There are many things (such as financial documents, medical) that will need to wait until you are either approved or at least closer to your approval date.

Of course your attorney can do it after you give him all the information. Without you or her giving the information, the attorney can do absolutely nothing. She can sign the forms after you give the attorney the information, he writes it in the proper box and gives it to her to sign, some weeks after he gets the information and takes a break from golfing to work on your case. The DS-156K she will have to sign at the interview.

Of course, you or her could do all this yourself faster than the attorney and for less cost.
