Hi everyone! Since I will be doing the removing of conditions this summer, I have decided to go ahead and check the paperwork that I will have to deal with. Everything seems pretty laid out easy with the GUIDES helping me out until I check the sworn statement sample. It says:

BEFORE THE UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES

UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY

#A1234567

I do not know what this "#A1234567" represents. Is it the Alien number?

And also, on the I-751 form, Part 3. Additional Information About You... 1. Other Names Used (including maiden name)... I have been using my nickname in some documents because some people are having a hard time pronouncing and spelling my real name. I even used it on my husband and I's joint checking account and all of our family and friends letters were addressed to that nickname. I will be using our joint account and some of the cards and letters we received as part of the ongoing evidences so I'm wondering if besides my maiden name, I can also include the name that I used on our joint account on this particular field on the form. Or will I be better off not including the nickname?

Thanks!

Since your nickname is on some of the evidence you intend to submit, I'd list the nickname.

Oh, and one more thing... I didn't see anywhere that I will have to send 2x2 photos... Am I correct or I just missed it somewhere?

No, you don't need to send photographs unless you are living outside of the US (ie on a military base, etc.). You will receive an ASC appointment letter after your NOA (usually about one month after receipt of your application) to go and do biometrics - fingerprints and photograph. Good luck.

Yes that's the A-number in the example. And yes, since your nickname is used in things like bank accounts, better you add that as an "other name used". Kathryn41 is right - no 2 x 2 photos needed.

Mae,

When it comes the time to do this. Ruchie and I will write the letter to show proof of your marriage and cohabitation. We will ask that you and David do the same for us too. We will lift conditions in July, but within the next couple of months we will collect all the evidences that we need. At least this will be cheaper that the AOS... :P

So that's my Alien number, huh? I double-checked our joint account and on the monthly statements, it's my real name that reflects, but on the check, that's where we use my nickname so I'm glad that I won't have to worry about it. But I'd still put my nickname on other names used since all of our correspondence with family and friends were addressed to my nickname. Thinking about this, some of them probably didn't know what my real name is. LOL! Anyway, thank you!

good luck

Thanks!

Ok, no problem, Danny! I hope I won't look too excited on this matter. I just wanted to make sure that I'll have everything well-covered. So far, so good. How's everything doing with you guys? Looks like we will be seeing you all again the end of April.:dance::dance:

Have a happy end of the week, guys!

here's what the I-751 instructions page states,

"Copies. Unless specifically required that an original document be filed with an application or petition, an ordinary legible photocopy may be submitted. Original documents submitted when not required will remain a part of the record, even if the submission was not required."

And if the person checking for completeness of your submitted evidence misplaces the original, you will have no further recourse. I'd send copies.
