Your sister is not your wife's relative so I would say no. If you sponsored her though, your sister could be a co-sponsor on your affidavit of support.

Correct. The question itself indicates the OP hasn't even begun to read the I-864 instructions. Bad plan. Read carefully, interpret literally and answer truthfully and accurately.

Hint, when you read the instruction that tells you not to list anybody twice, follow it. This means your spouse is the beneficiary and NOT listed as spouse too. It's a strange feeling but that's how it is.

Thanks all for the help. I read the instructions but I wanted to make sure as I am really getting confused in this form.

One more question. If my sister is co sponsering but she is filling joint tax form with her husbund then should she put down her income only or the combined income that is in the 1040 A for her income. I am really getting confused here and I don't want to fill out something with misunderstanding. Thanks all for the help.

I am talking about line 25. As my sister income will be lower than the gorss income in the form which includes income from both my sister and brother in law. thanks
