I have read some posts on here that says the California Service Center is working on I-130 applications from January 2009. How does one go about finding out what dates are currently being processed? I know the website says things are processed within 6 months so I am just curious where someone would find this information that they are working on January 2009.

Thanks!

Betsy

As a practical matter this information is useless. It's an out of date indication of the oldest case sitting around that they haven't finished yet. We've seen cases completed in as few as 35 days just recently but you'll see processing dates far older than that.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Well that's the part that sucks. I really don't think there is any real way to know when to expect something to happen. It's like you fall into the big black hole and hope someone somewhere rescues you. Thanks for bursting my bubble. LOL

I hope yours goes as fast as mine or even faster :). There have been very strange speed ups lately. I read a post last week that someone got approved in 10 days. Today or yesterday, I read that someone got approved in a week. So there are funny things happening.... I wouldn't hold my breath for something like that, but all the 09 files are definitely in much better shape then 08 filers (my friend who filed in March 08, his wife just arrived in March 09, he waited 9 months for NOA2.... ).. So, good luck and hope for the best :)
