was gonna switch to direct TV also but when we I found out that I need to sign a contract with them I changed my mind and get the Dishnetwork instead.I'm happy with it plus I got the Philippine channels too that I can watch and they have a promo 1 satellite receiver for 2 TV's so it's pretty a good deal. Where do you live?Maybe you should check Dishnetwork. To the OP good luck! You will have your GC soon!

Thanks! I checked with Dishnetwork before, they said they do Houston metro area, but just not specifically where I live :crying: . Also check with bunch of others like AT&t U verse, Comcast and Time Warner, but no luck :crying: ! That's ok, I just learnt to watch my account every single day for all utilities and credit card online, perhaps once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once in the evening, just to make sure no mysterious charges, took out a huge part of my life.

We went to our INFOPASS appoinment and we have some kind of good news they told us that they made a mistake and the officer (Really nice) called Vermont rigth away and talked to them about my case and how can be possible I got a denied letter since he goot the copy right there infront of his eyes. He scanned to them and they talked to each other for a little bit and then he just told me that they will fix the problem and I should not be worry about the letter, he asked me for my maiden mane and wrote something in the computer and told me since we werw coming from so far he will give me a 1 year stamp in my passport. So after all everything went smooth and we are gonna be able to sleep thoughtout the night (Thanks God) He even gave me his e-mail and told me to write him so he can give me an update in my case. Thanks guys for your support and I hope we get our approval soon.

Congratulations maryces21. I am happy and relieved to see your problem resolved.

I can imagine how it must have felt going through uncertainty and i think you will hear a good news soon. Two reasons.

1- USCIS will work on your case faster due to their mistake.

2- Since you had your senator invovled it will put extra pressure on them.

So now if they neglect your case or make it go slow they will be troubling knowing they have screwed up already. So wish you good luck.

Jasminelily,

I am so sorry to hear about your mishap. I wish it doesn't happen to anyone . Identity theft is becoming a major crime in US and ID safety shouldn't be taken lightly.

I know you must be saying, why "Jasminelily" why tell private things and then people advise you :). But i think it's a good thing that you share your thoughts and what

happened to you, so that people can advice you and other people can avoid that situation or they get to know what to do if that situation comes.

So couple of tips.

1- Don't Use Internet Explorer at all. It's not safe, Use firefox, it's faster and more secure.

2- Make sure you have spyware protection and malware protection enabled. Spybot search and distroy is a great tool. A lot of us don't know those shady websites or a lot

of spammy free stuff websites have spyware adware scripts running on them.

install the firefox extensions for further privacy.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

Also try to use paypal or google checkout as an interface for online transactions rather entering your credit card information.

Try not to store your password and other info into the browser e.g. autocomplete etc... A lot of scripts try to read your info off that as well.

Also your credit card statements and other financial papers make sure you shred or tier them off before throwing. Little step can help a long ways

I hope it helps. I wish and hope that no one gets every hijacked via Identity theft which makes your life more worrisome than it already is.

Yes, your fingerprints may be expired after a year. There have been a few others in the same situation where they were called for new biometrics around a year after their first although they are supposed to be good for 15 months. It could also indeed be that they have misplaced yours, especially because you did have that initial denial letter. Hopefully once they get them redone they will fast track your application and give you your approval. At least it is now assigned to an officer and that is good. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a quick approval now. I wouldn't worry too much about no touches update - they don't seem to be very consistent with that feature.

maryces21,

I'm glad that you are getting some updates about your case, just some movement or news are nice. It's not good that they cannot find your first fingerprint record, but at least now they're asking you to go second time and your case got assigned to a supervisor. Hopefully your case will be approved once you get that second time done. Here is for good luck :star: !
