Hi, I`m a USC and i`ve been living in colombia for the past 6 years and I married a wonderful lady, we have a beautiful baby boy and we just recently decided to go back to the states; I filled for a cr1 visa and on february of this year she had her final interview. The interview went fine so I thought, but strangely we got our case put into an internal administrative process!! I thought that was weird, since we had all documents in order!!! so I`m wondering if someone`s gone thru the same thing and how long did it take to get the visa??? I`ll appreciate any advise......thanks so much!!! philipe

it probably is just to delay the visa a bit and do some checking.

Leedah;

Let me ask you something. How did you get them to expedite your case the 2nd time? I recently requested an expedite of our case due to medical emergency. Our 1 year old son who is a US Citizen, has contracted pneumonia. He's had chronic bronchialitis since he was 3 months old and due to the weather in Bogota it's gotten worst, and I can't afford to have him here to get the medical attention he deserves unless I have my wife to care for him, especially since I am the only source of income for this family.

Unfortunately, I recieved a letter in the mail on Friday in which they were denying my petition for an expedited process. What gets me mad, is that they didn't even request proof of what I'm stating. I saw in your timeline & that you were rejected the first time and then approved on the second request. What expedite procedure did you use? What service center was taking care of your I-130? Please help.

Bocajr27,

The first time I requested an expedite, it was denied mainly because they messed up my name and it looked like someone who was not the petitioner (me) or beneficiary( husband) was requesting it.

I called back and explained in more detail.

Basically I think I got an expedite because my kids were kidnapped by my ex in 2003 and since then, I have gotten ALOT of government contacts.

I also gave them the names of FBI agents in my case,etc.

Maybe that helped.

Who knows. Its always a shot in the dark.

But I would suggest to do a second expedite request. Don't stop at just that one. Let them know its urgent.

Anyway, my expedite didn't really help much since we are STILL at the embassy going to interviews left and right and was put on AP. I even have an interview coming up this Wednesday.
