I filed for my parents in july 08 I 130 and I 485 concurrently. Their case was transferred to CSC on Jan 15 09. Their I 130 is finally approved on March 17th. I was under the impression that both 485 and 130 are approved at the same time because they are filed concurrently. my question is usually how long does it take for 485 approval after 130 is approved. their 130 is approved without interview( I dont even know an interview is needed for 130?). can anyone post their experience here?after 8 months we finally have approval for 130 and does this mean 485 approval is coming soon?

Thanks

Arpita

As per my knowledge, Its true that if its transferred to CSC then both shd be approved that the same time. BUt in ur case the strange fact is it took so long time for everything. AS you said you applied for perents . So they are in India right now ? But you have posted under "Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas" . MOderators pls take care of this. Plus I think some seniors members wd take care of your post soon. Thanks.

Thanks. More info on the case. My parents are here on visitors visa and so we applied for AOS. After 6 months their case was transferred to CSC from NBC. We had one RFE in august which we responded very quickly. after 8 months their 130 is finally approved.

so at csc both 485 and 130 are approved at the same time?

Thanks

Arpita I dnt want to burge in regarding your intentions, but what exactly do you mean when u say"My parents are here on visitors visa and so we applied for AOS". So they used B1/B2 visa to come here so that AOS can be applied ?

1stly after how many days of entry did you apply for the AOS ?

2ndly I am surprised that you have a approved I-130 and CSC transferred case. What was the RFE for ?? & has their biometrics been taken ??

Yes The NBC will likely continue to process the ancillary benefits (AP/EAD), while the main file ( both I-485 & I-130) goes to the CSC. But hardly in any case where adjusting is being done from B1/B2 the case goes to CSC.

Thanks

I wanted to update here. we have good news. I was right about 485 and 130 processing at the same time. after receiving approval for 130 on March 17th, we received approval for 485 on March 20th in mail. Yay!! online status still says pending for 485! so if you file 130/485 concurrently, then both approval comes at the same time. BTW we received approval without interview. Their green card is for 10 years.CSC took 2 months to process so not bad at all considering it was collecting dust at NBC for 6 months.

P.S. AOS for parents of US citizen mostly goes to CSC now a days as it does not require interview.

Good luck to everyone who are still waiting.
