Hi all is it possible for her sister to come here too?

I was thinking:

wait until she becomes a permanent resident.

Then she herself can petition for her sister using 130?

Is that accurate?

You have to be a US citizen to petition for a sibling.

If you're a permanent resident, you can only petition for a spouse or unmarried child.

That pretty much covers it. My wife's sister independently found love and marriage with a US Citizen recently. We expect her visa process to conclude a few months from now. As I assisted her husband (whom I've yet to meet in person) with filing the petition, we made certain to show clear evidence their relationship was independent of my wife and I, that they were not introduced by us and that the relationship itself was bona fide. The funny thing is that a year or so after she arrives, we actually plan to start spending most of our time in China, so it's not a case of them ending up seeing that much more of each other.

Even a citizen bringing a sibling is a years long process.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Hi all is it possible for her sister to come here too?

I was thinking:

wait until she becomes a permanent resident.

Then she herself can petition for her sister using 130?

Is that accurate?

Not accurate ! Must be a US citizen. Even if she is a USC it will take over 20 years for the petition.

Faster to divorce your wife and bring sis on a fiance visa!!!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

It takes about 23 years for a USC to petition for a sibling who is Filipino; 15 years for a Mexican sibling; 12 years for siblings from the rest of the world.

Although creative, immigration fraud is probably a bad idea. :innocent:

Siblings are the lowest priority on the immigration visa list. Spouse, minor children, parents, adult children are higher priorities. Generally, a person is responsible for other individuals in that order. An individual has responsibilities for a spouse, then minor children, then parents, then adult children, and lastly other family members.
