Hi everyone,

I sent my applications to the american embassy in Nicosia, Cyprus. They told me to wait until they do some administrative processings. It's about 2 months since I have filed for my husband who is an Iranian Citizen. I didn't get any notification up to now. Should I still await them? help me plz. I'm very anxious about it.

2 months seems reasonable to me considering everything. Nicosia is a designated post for Iranians, so it's not unfamiliar territory to them.

I've read that they are good about return communication--why not email them and ask for an update?

Hey Irasatellite!

According to the info they gave me when I filed, the I-130 takes between 1-3 months, and you hear NOTHING when this is done....after this is completed they pass it on to the visa department, and they review it before mailing out your packets...so 6 weeks is the fastest and it can take up to 5 months.

I followed up with them about every 2 weeks after the first month, they told me when it was approved, and then I began following up with the consular people, again very good communications and they let me know things were finished(Ironically got this reply that things were scheduled on the same day the packet showed up at home)

Good luck!
