I heard that the American petitioner is no longer allowed within the embassy during the interview? Can they not wait at least in a waiting area, within view of the beneficiary? My husband and I would like to stay together or at least have him close for support during the interview. What is the USEM policy now? Does it differ from one consulate to another?

Also, how much evidence do we need to provide? Do we need to print hundreds of pages of mails? Or are pictures, receipts and other evidences more weighty to them? A lot of our mails discuss issues that the consul might react to depending on their background (religion, literature, etc.)

Another question: What if you have no evidence of a specific meeting in the past? Does it automatically not count? What if you got a replacement passport and you have no stamps to show?

It differs by consulate, some allow, others do not, so US Citizen waits outside as in Guangzhou China.

Manila may be different:

Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview? Yes

I waited in the waiting area at the USEM. I was allowed to go to each window with Trisha during the interview except for the formal interview with the CO. It was the same with all other spouses at the embassy that day.

We had 100 plus pages of chat logs and in the pre-screen they just asked for about half. Yes just a random half.

As far as evidence you will need it. Photos, anything get creative. Even if you get a replacement passport the old passport is returned and has the old stamps in it.

Love forever,

Dale & Trisha
