Interview Rescheduled due to A-File not ready by the interview time.

I have sent you private message with my contact if. Please everybody, info you know about any threads that you could post I will appreciate it. I tried to search (Key work A-File) but it seems the key word was not long enough.

Are you sure that this is going to do you any good? I totally understand that you want to get the whole process finished as soon as possible. But so far you're still in a normal timeframe. Those reasons you listed are valid reasons why they might have had to postpone your interview and that's nothing USCIS can control since other agencies do the background checks. If they're not ready to interview you, they have to deschedule. Maybe they'll be ready in a week or two and send out a new invitation. But if they get inquiries from a Congressman right away, I don't think that will make them too happy. Of course, if it seems like you have to wait forever and are not in the regular timeframe anymore, you might consider inquiring what's going on. But right now I wouldn't "bother" them just yet.

I'm with Stella on this one....Might want to give them a few more weeks. Wait till the end of the month and see where things sit. The way I'm looking at it, I can see them saying that the file is not ready and we have not reviewed it yet for accuracy. Then that's the answer you'll be stuck with. I know these USCIS people, all they do is read what shows up on their computer screen, and that's it. They don't know how to think past that. Rather, I don't think they care to think past that. Trust me I call often enough to bug them. =) Good luck let us know how to proceed.

Stella08 and KyngSilva you may need to do some research regard rescheduling due to A-file not received to know how serious this issue is. Send me your person email and I will send you over 12 threads cover this issue. If I do not act now this issue could drag for up to 2 years. As I mentioned, these day you do not have to wary about FBI check since for max they will delay you 6 months or less. See link below regard the latest achievement

I'm curious...why post a question if you know how serious it is from reading other threads? Also if your file is not ready what exactly is the Senators office going to be doing? This is why I posted the question earlier. You can ask your Senator's office to get an update on your file and that's what they will do. From my experience on calling the Senators office, they tell you exaclty what the USCIS tells them. The Senators office is used more to help your case if has stalled over a period of time, or your not getting any answers from the USCIS and there has been no communication with them. I'm in no way telling you not to call your Senators office, but I really don't see the point since the USCIS has already contacted you recently and given you a status on your file. I received a call from my local office today at 6:300Am to inform me that my interview on 3/31/09 will be descheduled. I got confused since my interview that was canceled last week had 4/1/2009 date not 3/31/2009. I asked do you mean 4/1/09. The officer stated, no, we just sent you a new letter yesterday for new interview on 3/31/2009. I have not even received this letter yet and they Descheduled again. The officer stated, my FBI check is not in yet and she will schedule the interview as soon as all the required documents are in. I feel better now since it is not the A-file issue. I have reported the issue to my Rep, Senator and Ombudsman. The officer stated she just sent a letter yesterday (that my interview will be on 3/31/2009) as well to my congress women regard her inquiry about my case. IO stated she will send a new letter again to the congress women to let her know about the new development.
