Hey guys,

Our I-130 has been approved :D and even though I am very happy, I am not sure what to expect. Will they still approve my I-129? I dont think i need it any more as clearly it didnt serve to reunite us faster. I have read abt IR1 and I am not sure how we can apply for it based on the approval of my I-130. My understanding is that the I-130 packet will be sent to the consulate here in Nairobi, is that what usually happens?

Please help I am happy yet confused.

Thanks.

Congratulations on your approval! Your I-130 packet will now be sent to NVC at which point you will submit various forms, check out the LingChe shortcuts in the 'guides' section. After your case is completed at NVC they will send it to the consulate.

If you no longer wish to go for the K-3 simply ignore any documents received for that petition. You will be given an IR-1 if you have been married for 2+ years.

Congrages again!

Also, the payments for the Affidavit of Support and Immigrant Visa are available online if you have a US bank account. Jame's shortcut in the WIKI will give you a link for the email version of the DS-3032 (choice of agent form) . We hit NVC on March 10th and all we have left is the IV fee (I expect Ivonne's DS-3032 to be input any day now) and sending her documents. With a little more of God's help, she should have her CR-1 interview some time in May or early June. The NVC is moving toward more online services. Best wishes,

RickD
