Police: E-Mails Of Shooting At Wal-Mart Are Hoax

POSTED: Wednesday, March 18, 2009ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. -- Alachua County investigators said a mass e-mail and text message sent out Wednesday about a new gang initiation is a hoax.The message said prospective gang members were told to kill two or three women at a Wal-Mart in order to join the gang.Law enforcement agencies in Georgia and Florida received calls in reference to the message, but none of the reports were substantiated.Investigators believe it is an attempt to start an urban myth.

Yeah thats a load of poo... Haha I work at Wal Mart they had a meeting about it and said if ya wanted to be escorted out ya could be. is probally someone who got fired or tryed to sue and got mad.. Who knows!!!

They have also done emails on Walmart, etc. always check any emails/texts etc on www.snopes.com

I got that text today as well and looked it up on the internet to find out it was a hoax. This is the second hoax text I got, the first saying a girl was kidnapped at a nearby park (which was specifically named) but then it ended up being false. What has the world become?

From what I understand its a hoax thats been going on for several years. Alot of us walmart associates here in Ga got the text message Wednesday. I know at my husbands Walmart they did have police around the premises last night, but then it could be due to a high theft and fraud area. I know alot of people around here mentioned their text messages to the cops. I havent seen police hanging around my walmart. Sad that this kind of hoax is what is going around.
