http://www.admtl.com/passager/acces_et_sta...t/_aerobus.aspx The airport shuttle works great--$25 total. Wil drop ya off downtown at the train station, where you catch a free shuttle to a downtown hotel. Works exactly opposite on ur return!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Yeah the trip to the consulate is gonna be costly too... I have to go from nowhere Nova Scotia to Montreal, and spend a couple extra nights there too and pay for the hotel because they dont do medicals here in halifax anymore. Im estimating Ill be paying about $250 airfare, $250 medical, $250 hotel, plus food, etc. Thank god ill miss that hpv shot by a few months of the cut off, or that would have been a few hundred more tacked on

and if ur under 26, u can add in the gardisil vaccination which is $$$ ( or get a waiver, which will add on more months)

Wait, isn't Sean the Canadian? he wouldn't have to get that.

Am I reading this correctly? My fiance will have to go to Montreal and not to Toronto for his interview?

Montreal is 617km from where he lives!

Where does he live? Some K filers interview in Vancouver, depending on where they live.

Look at West Jet flights as well - I drove from Chatham to Hamilton and flew West Jet to/from Montreal. I know West Jet is now based in Toronto instead of Hamilton but they had a great rate - far better than Air Canada.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Yes, I'm the American, he's the Canadian. I'm over 26 anyway. I asked my doctor about getting the vaccine at my last check up and she told me I am too old lol!

He lives near Hamilton in Ontario. We usually fly Air Canada, but thanks to everyone for the links and suggestions of other airlines and methods of transportation!

I have plenty of time to check into the different options so the input really helps!

You don't want to look at the price in USD though, check in CAD it's much more expensive :(

You have use expedia.ca or aircanada.ca but select "residence: canada" to have the price in canadian dollars.

I'm in Toronto and I think we'll drive or fly depending on the price. We could take the train, apparently it's not too bad either.

I am American so I always look at the price in USD; it makes me feel like I'm getting a discount! =p

I hear ya! I think my finance and I are going to be paying for all this years after the fact  Thankfully my soon to be in laws are very helpful!

Filling fee+Medical+Garadisil vaccination+Travel from Southern Ontario to Montreal+Wedding+honeymoon in Florida+AOS... Probably more I can't think of... BUT its worth it in the end. I'm only going to do this once! I know everybody says that but REALLY... only once!

To make the Montreal experience slightly less painful my American is coming with me and we are going to make a mini-vacation out of it... I'm more interested in spending some time in Ottawa to visit friends and see the capital

Awe man.. I would LOVE to do that.. :( *sigh.. have to hold out for that trip.. we are hoping to go to Myrtle Beach in April for an extended weekend :) Mostly the beach, but if there is a little cashola perhaps House of Blues for a concert... or Dixieland Stampede (been there but I think Hubby would enjoy eating sans utensils).. i lived in Myrtle Beach a while back.
