Am I reading this correctly? My fiance will have to go to Montreal and not to Toronto for his interview?

Montreal is 617km from where he lives!

Yup, that's right! We all had to travel near and far to get to our interview. I drove from Toronto-Montreal for mine. Most take the train or fly!

Yeah we couldn't afford our wedding either in 90 days, after the moving costs and immigration costs.... so like many people on VJ, we had a simple legal ceremony and are saving up for the PARTAAY!!

You also need to add on the Adjustment of Status fee of $1010.00 after you get married.

I did know about the $1010 fee.

So far my only surprises have been the medical exam fee of $275 and now this . . .

I just looked up some random flights on Air Canada, and the prices are about $62 (US) each way from Toronto to Montreal. It seems like there is a flight almost every hour coming and going. Altogether it is $212 US, which is not so bad.

West Jet I assume? They usually have good deals. They are a great airline.

oops- just realized you said Air Canada- that is pretty good for AC. Usually they are the most expensive.

You don't want to look at the price in USD though, check in CAD it's much more expensive

You have use expedia.ca or aircanada.ca but select "residence: canada" to have the price in canadian dollars.

I'm in Toronto and I think we'll drive or fly depending on the price. We could take the train, apparently it's not too bad either.

When you fly, you should also factor in the cost to get to/from the airport - it's kind of far from downtown.

We took the train, it was $144 CDN return and super close to the consulate and a smooth ride.
