I hear everyone talking about "touches". What is a touch? Are you sent an email or letter in the mail? What does a touch say? Thanks :help:

1/03/07 Married

AOS JOURNEY BEGINS.....

1/4/07-mailed AOS/EAD

1/5/07-AOS/EAD received at Chicago Lockbox

1/13/07-NOA 1 (dated 1/9/07)

1/15/07-AOS/EAD touched

1/16/07-touched

1/22/07-touched

1/23/07-email stating rfe is coming :(

1/24/07-AOS/EAD touched

1/28/07-AOS touched

We should make this a stickied thread teaching what "touch" means. :P

Ok, when you create an account at USCIS to check your case status, you'll have a Last Update Date date on your portfolio panel. Sometimes you'll notice this date changing, even though your status hasn't, when this happen, we call it being touched, 'cus it means someone touched, picked up, looked at, your application, even though nothing was actually done with it that it worth telling you. :P

when ever an ajudicator performs any type of work on your case ... you are 'touched' and you will a date change with your online status. you can register at the site once you have your NOA1 # (also located on the back of your cancelled check). some people are:

*never touched and approved

*never touched and RFE'd

*touched once and then approved

*touched several times and approved

*touched several times and RFE'd

see the pattern here?? unfortunately, there is no way that anyone here on VJ can tell you if you case will or will not be touched and how many times.
