us embassy in cairo and state department responds

I am totally confused,the us embassy in Cairo told me that case pending consular officer final review,the state department said the case pending administration process in Washington d.c,anyone knows what is going on?????.

CO final review can take awhile. I was told that a month or so before the case was actually finished. I think the term "final review" is used to get you off their back awhile.

I would listen to what the Dept of State says, after they release it, then the embassy will know. Did you call Washington or just the embassy?

DOS told me that sometimes things can be happening at the embassy level that they do not know about yet. No input into the computer. But who knows who knows what.

We got our visa at about 5 weeks from the time they told us final review at the embassy level. DOS can only see in process till it's actually issued. Keep in touch with both of them! You can also see when it's touched on the DHL site if you have your tracking number. That's how I found out ours was shipped. Good luck!
