I didn't say he should be let off for breaking the law. I was saying he wasn't like some crackhead robbing houses to get high and I think most drug laws need to be dropped.

He shouldn't be let off but the laws should be dropped?

Drug addiction only became a "disease" for Rush when he was addicted to Oxycontin.

It's not the numbers of "like/dislike" that are important to him... (heck he is still higher than Congress, the Senate, News orgs and lawyers).

His important numbers are the number of people tunning in to his program every day.

The more that tune in... the more he makes in advertising.

I know some of you guys have a hard time putting politics aside but Rush is literally a Highschool grad. who has not only dominated talk radio but he has managed to propel himself into the public spot light, unlike any thing before. He is not a spectacle, he is a force to be

reckoned with and Obama knows it.

Think of all the Beautiful HollyWood celebs who have tried to mobilize political or social movements. World stage Musicians who have banded together for this cause or that which at best have a 48 hour appeal window.

And here is fat ugly Rush, who by simply expressing the world as he sees it, has a more lasting impact on the conversations across than any other person.... except Obama. (for now)

The problem is, you Rush hatters don't grasp the "ART" of his work.

3 hours a day, 5 days a week and rarely does he have a guest on.

Who else could do that? The Left tried to combat "Rightwing Radio with "Air America", not only did it fail to compete ... in about 2 years it was in Chapter 11.

Even the biggest Obama supporter would not believe tens of millions people would tune in ....even "one" hour every day to listen to Obama speak?

Obviously this is good for Rush, and I would argue, good for America... as this is nation built on the persuasion of ideas rather than power of dynasties,....but as for which political party is Rush good for; Time will tell.

I guess in a small way there is a comparison.

I never cared for Stern but a lot of people around me seem to love him, at least way back when. But Stern never had any great impact (that I recall) outside of the radio audience that listen to him.

Rush on the other hand has this ability to "effect" the story, not just cover it.
