I'm sure the Republican Party is still proud of him.

Limbaugh's Popularity Rating in the CellarCBS News

posted: 10 HOURS 24 MINUTES AGOcomments: 2520filed under: Political NewsPrintShareText SizeAAA(March 17) -- Over the past few weeks, the White House has been casting right-wing talk show host Rush Limbaugh as the head of the Republican Party, and based on a new CBS News poll, it appears they may be onto something. According to the poll, Limbaugh’s favorable rating stands at just 19 percent, a full 43 points lower than President Barack Obama’s.

Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh triggered a controversy earlier this year when he said he hoped the president's economic policies would fail. A new CBS News poll puts Limbaugh's favorable rating at just 19 percent.

Limbaugh’s unfavorable rating, meanwhile, stands at 40 percent, while 41 percent say they don’t know or don’t have an opinion. Not surprisingly, the conservative commentator, who has said he hopes that the president’s economic policies fail, is far more popular with Republicans – 47 percent view him favorably – than with Democrats, just seven percent of whom view him favorably.

More StoriesThe poll also found that Republicans are relatively pessimistic about the future of their party. Just 40 percent believe the party is going in the right direction, while nearly as many – 36 percent – say it is going in the wrong direction. Among all Americans, just 27 percent say the party is going in the right direction and 48 percent say it is going in the wrong direction.

In March 1994 – right before the Republican takeover of Congress – views were quite different. A Gallup/CNN/USA Today taken at the time found that 58 percent believed the Republican leadership was taking the party in the right direction while just 24 percent thought it was headed in the wrong direction.

Drugs? He took painkillers. If you're gonna get high, you could at least take hallucinogenics. At least that way you get to see and experience things most of us don't.

Downers are good.

There's another plane of reality out there, hallucinogenics will get you to the periphery, downers won't.

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

He will still be the GOP nominee in 2012.

Why do you hate drug addicts?

I believe he was originally taking the pills for back pain and got hooked on them and he was buying them with his own money. Not like he was sticking up 7-11s and mugging old ladies to buy his drugs. That's why I think drug laws make no sense. If you are doing something that isn't harming anyone else the govenrment should butt out.

Yea, but that reality isn't really real.

The law is the law, though. Oh wait, that only applies when the law breaker's a Democrat. Like Bill Clinton

I didn't say he should be let off for breaking the law. I was saying he wasn't like some crackhead robbing houses to get high and I think most drug laws need to be dropped. I don't think anyone is going to say perjury laws are not necessary.

He shouldn't be let off but the laws should be dropped?

It is when you're there.

But when you come back here, how do you know you were there?

A good experience will change your soul. You'll know.
