Firstly the 20,000,000 is an estimate (on the high-end) of the number of illegal immigrants in this country. The truth is noone knows how many there are - but the estimates vary wildly between 11 million and 20 million. Might as well be made up numbers for how verifiable they are.

Ah okay, estimate. Hmm, so it could be more then? Be lets assume it's 1 million or even 500,000. What right to these 500,000 have to work while Americans live in Tents?

But this of course has nothing to do with what I said - you seem to look at ethnicity and make some bald assumption that anyone hispanic looking that you happen to bump into has a dice roll chance of being an illegal immigrant (and should presumably be harrassed and detained anyway - for good measure).

First of all it's not harassing anybody. Second why would they target Hispanics. Maybe just maybe because the majority of illegal immigrants are from your Mexico's, El Savadors etc. That's a no-brainer. If someone has cancer in their arm, the chemo targets the arm and not the foot. For obvious reasons.

E-Verify might be the way to go - if they can cut down on the error rate and address the concerns that have been raised about data security.

Similar systems and processes seem to work well for your mother country and the rest of the developed world. Almost a given my most there that you are either living there legally or your not. That those who are there legally let alone citizens should always take precedence over anyone else. As usual, in the name of being PC you are basically suggesting everyone should be questioned and inconvenienced because of the actions of others. Which is the same line of reasoning you have with regards to crime. Maybe we should be targeting grannies too just to ensure we are not profiling.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

*You* brought up hispanics.

You also indicated elsewhere that they should be subjected to *special* treatment by law-enforcement, suggesting (in particular) that the constitutional right of the 2nd amendment should somehow be taken away from them.

Collective punishment is harassment in my book...

No... that's not what I said at all. I'm saying that there are some privacy and data security questions about this particular program. If they can iron those out - then I have no problem with it.

If you weren't working and living in a tent it's your own fault. There are solutions, move, or take a lower level job, or work for less money than your peers or do the jobs the illegals do for less than they will. Why are we feeling sorry for homeless people now?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

The thing you fail to realize is that I will be the first to say that these guys work extremely hard and are generally good people. Unfortunately the American economy simply cannot sustain them at this point in time. These jobs need to be available to Americans and their families. As I said earlier, even 500,000 illegal immigrants is 500,000 less jobs for Americans who are literally on the streets. Once the economy improves I highly recommend the US look at the points system used by Aus, Canada and now the UK. Where the United states can give these people a chance to come here legally but can also choose which skills the nation requires. The country already offers a lottery visa which very few, if any, others offer. The United States government should be the only one allowed to decide whether somebody can migrate here or not. Rather than the status quo where anyone can literally come here at their own will and setup shop with ease.

The other concern which is a side topic but nonetheless important is the number of criminals and violent crimes being carried out by illegal immigrants. Criminals that are remaining in the US only to re offend. This is something that should not be tolerated at all.

The solution is actually quite simple. Mandate e-verify as well as a presenting other identification such as a drivers license or State ID for emplyment. Then fine any employer who fails to carry out a test prior to employment of $20K, on the spot, per incident. Such measures are not only fair but would also nip illegal immigration in the butt.

Feel free to  away.

Its a simple question that has ####### all to do with what I wrote.

I don't think illegal immigrants have any *right* to employment. That wasn't what we were talking about - its yet another of BY's silly tangents.

Nice try but we all know you are full of shiiit.

When your not rebutting, antagonizing or insulting you are stereotypically saying you never said this or never suggested that. Ironically you are the first to twist a post and accuse others of something though.

As another poster once said, "Six wouldn't have a stance on fire, even if he was on fire." :jest:

hey hey hey he never said that.

Just like he is not a liberal

Like Cleo this guy is clueless. They talk out of their #### on topics they have little knowledge of. The guy lives in Joisee of all places yet apparently has not seen a lowrider but acts as if he knows the ins and outs of a ghetto.
