I don't really know in which part of the country you grew up but I don't have any "codes words" for Black nor Canadian. Black is black and Canadian is Canadian.

Anyway, doesn't shock me that you have code words for nationalities and races...

Too many of our legislators, and their supporters are un-American. Today, I listened to a state legislator go on about how we have to accept illegals getting in-statecollege tutition so that theur Dreams can be fulfilled in the US. However, he refused to address the federal prohibition against allowing in-state tutition for illegals while denying the same to out of state legals. He simply doesn't like that law and wants to ignore it, as he wants to ignore immigration procedures and statutes, and the fact that illegals, after getting a US college degree cannot legally work.

I have a friend from India who was in a Ph.D program at the same time I was, who was deported for working too many hours on a student visa. Why was she deported for such a small infraction when she was here legally, but others who have never been here a day legally are not only allowed to stay, but ENCOURAGED to contnue their illegalities? ####### is it about illegals that politicians LOVE so much while making so many demands on those who try to do tings legally?

We have a tax cheat running the IRS, a president who promises transparancy when convenient, but refuses to open up his own school records and much of his past to examnation. Our so-called leaders are bastians of inconsistancy when it comes to enforcement, but pretty consistant when expessing confidence that they can get away with picking and choosing which ones to disregard. Moral and legal relativism is the norm because rights are no longer inrevocably linked to responsibilities. When no one wants limits or believes they can be told "no", this kind of unabashed idiocy is what we get.

Is this a cross the board criticism, or does it simply apply to 'Dimocrats'? If it was across the board, I would not agree on the 'un American' part, because that's just silly. However, there is certainly a disconnect between citizens and their elected representatives. One can't entirely blame the politicians for that either. Partly the blame lays squarely on the shoulders of everyone who only minimally participates in political debate and discussion and refuses to hold all politicians account to the same standards.

I don't really know in which part of the country you grew up but I don't have any "codes words" for Black nor Canadian. Black is black and Canadian is Canadian.

Anyway, doesn't shock me that you have code words for nationalities and races...

I know that many police officers in Houston use "Canadian" in lieu of "black" or "African American." I can understand the basis behind it (even if it is a little silly), but it seems to me that doing so would only work for a very limited amount of time. Eventually the "code word" would be revealed and a different term would be required.

The speaker of the House told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants recently that a policy of kicking in doors in the middle of the night and sending a parent away from their families would be limited to american citizens who believe in constitutional rights and freedom. After they are all thrown in prison their homes, cars, and jobs will be given to illegal aliens, who are, after all, more patriotic.

so the speaker is associating with known felony criminal fugitives? why doesn't that surprise me? she just wants to make illegals into democrats with her own special alchemy. trouble is, no matter how long she conjures over it, illegals are still just lead, suitable only for use as fishing weights and balancing tires. they will never be gold.

Those people vote - and have an opinion on the subject of illegal immigration that comes from their own immediate self-interest. While we may dislike the general state of affairs - I'm not sure I see why that opinion is any less valid than the folks screaming for razor wire' land mines and machine gun emplacements to be set up on the border.

what yo fail to acknowledge, my patronising friend, is that the American government has already accepted a practical "invasion" of 15-20 million illegals. Sea Lion never got beyond the staging operations, but if it had, your perspective would be very different. I had assumed that you were smart enough to make the connection. Oh well...
