We don't know what to do with poor people either, perhaps we should execute them?

Only when they commit capital murder.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Not everyone feels that way, allegedly.

Seriously though, it's not good enough to execute just because there is 'no alternative'. Other countries manage to deal with these types of criminals without having the rest of the population living in fear of their somehow escaping into the general community and killing again, so it obviously is perfectly possible to achieve.

YEP, then they should be given the three step proscess.

1 tried and convicted on day one.

2 appeals denied on day two.

3 given a seat in "old sparkey" on day three.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Clearly there has been a travesty here. Three people were butchered, internals removed and taken for trophy.

IF THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOR DESERVES COMPASSION, THEN I HAVE NONE.

Did I say the behaviour deserves compassion? The behaviour is appalling. However, that's not connected in any way to the idea of ignoring basic principals of justice and enjoying the process of execution, despite having no personal knowledge of or connection with the case (assuming of course that you do not. If you have a personal connection with this killer then clearly you have a reason for becoming so emotionally involved in his execution.)

Texas is pretty unsympathetic to insane defences - even when there's ample evidence to that effect.

Obviously this guy was sane enough to go out and score some booze and dope prior to murdering his victims. I'm no shrink, but apparently he had some control over his actions and cognative thinking. He may be several bricks shy of a full load, but that doesn't make him legally insane.

Well that's the only definition that matters.

Still to a lay person the nature of the crime and the man's subsequent actions indicates that he wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders.

That said I have little faith in the Texas justice system.
