Still have yet to get an answer anywhere I look. Has anyone gone through this with younger children? My wife is going to get Police Check Done this week and I've asked her to ask the officers to see if it is necessary. I would like to know from members here also can I call NVC (Without my case being there) and ask?

Do I need to get police checks for my 3 kids?

Their ages are 10, 8, and 3

I know in Colombia they had to be over 16 to need the police check, check the emabassy web site and may post this in the Canada forum. Good luck.

PS my step son turned 16 1 month before the interview and he did not need the police check.

Why is it that the only one who can stop the crying is the one who started it in the first place?

It appears that in Canada, you have to be 16 or above to require a police background check.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

WARNING: Phrases in this post may sound meaner than they were intended to be. Read the Adjudicator's Field Manual from USCIS
