Get tickets to the Pacquiao fight! Although Ricky the Hitman Hatton will take him in 7 rounds!

Other things to do in Vegas, gamble, gamble gamble! Take in a show, go bungee jumping, go to wet and wild, find a hooker. Many possibilities, all fun.

My hubby is from vegas and I have been there 12 times. If you can't get in at Mandalay, there are heaps of other hotels depending on the budget. I heard recently from a friend that the hotels are going really cheap becaue of the recession. I used to always mainly stay at the Hilton. It's off the strip but it has a monorail station that takes you right into the heart. I have also stayed at Caesars Palace and Paris hotel. They are nice too but I like to be away from the hustle and bustle. There is heaps to do in vegas, depends what you are in to. If you rent a car you can drive around and got to the small towns. We drive to Stateline often (Primm Valley) - really great food and cheap rooms out there. We also go to Mesquite and cross over to Zion National Park in Utah. Also, heading down south to Laughlin is beautiful at is on the river and you can go jet skiing. But if you want to hang around vegas, then I would suggest the shows. Barry Manilow's Music and Passion show at the Hilton is fantastic. Barry is great. There is also Menopause the Musical which is funny ( but somewhat depressing for any women to know what lies ahead in life). The Scintas are also very good. Unfortunately Celine Dion has left Vegas, she was good and I saw Elton John who was fantastic. I believe he still performs at Caesars from time to time. For more info check out www.vegas.com - its really informative.

Have fun...wish I was returning back there ....but if NVC picks up speed, I may see you there in a couple of months.

Cheers, Corinne

Cool. If you like to eat, then I can recommend the following:

Buffet at Red Rock Casino/Hotel and/or Green Valley Ranch Henderson - Both are owned by Station Casinos but the buffet is amazing and good price too!

For a cheap feed, try Terribles Hotel & Casino on East flamingo. You can get a baked dinner for about $4.99 - I love there Pasta Alfredo with Chicken!

Also, the buffet at South Point Casino is good value and nice food.

Most importantly, you will pay double or triple for anything on the strip usually. If you drive either 5 minutes east or west of the strip, you can get it cheap. For e.g Arizona Charlies or Sam's Town on Boulder Highway have really good breakfasts for cheap!

The restaurant where my husband first took me for dinner was the Bahama Breeze - great carribean vibe and cocktails there but a little pricey.

For the best PHilly Cheese steak sandwich, there is a coffee shop on the corner of Spring Valley and Polaris on the west side - Absolutely Yummy!

Bellagio coffee shop is very nice but so is the price! Great toasst there..its really thick!

If you really want to be adventurous, the Stratosphere has some death defying rides at the top of the tower! Also for adventure, there are natuaral warm springs at Tocopa - its on the way to Pahrump.

HAVE FUN !!!

Sorry forgot to add, Expedia is good for hotels. Sometimes you can get cheaper by booking on the hotel website itself. I prefer to book directly with the airline. Southwest flies from Seattle to vegas and if you book early you can get it for dirt cheap.

nothing is wrong with GA. we did get to sit in the GA section the last fight but it was still kinda hard to see.

I lived in Vegas for many, many years and rarely went to a casino because it's really not my cup of tea. But besides going casino hopping you can try these:

- The seafood buffet at the Rio Hotel

- Take I-15 to the Stateline and ride the tallest rollercoaster in the US.

- Visit Hoover Dam

- Go to Lake Mead to swim or jet ski

- Rent a car and drive up to Red Rock Canyon which is west of the city

- Visit the MGM park

- Ride the coaster at the Stratosphere

- Visit the tigers at the Mirage

- There's also tons of shows to see so check Vegas.com to see what will be playing when you visit.

The list goes on and on...

We just got back on Sat. :) We are cheap, so we walked everywhere and Mandalay Bay is all the way at the end of the strip, so we wouldnt stay there because of that. We got a great deal through Orbitz. 385/person including flight, 5 nights in Treasure Island and 2 free cirque tickets to any show. We really liked the Grand Luxe Cafe in the Palazzo. We went there the first night we got in since it was the first thing open we wandered by (at midnight). The food was really good, the atmosphere was very nice and it was pretty well priced considering the local (we got a pizza and it was 10$ AND they make deserts for you fresh, mmmmm). I think all the rides there are too expensive. I can go to Cedar Point (best roller coaster park in the world) for the price of 4 tickets to go on ONE roller coaster. COmplete rip off.
