I didn't bother to find my cirth certificate. I just submitted copies of all pages of my passport in lieu of the birth cert. I also made a copy of the front and back cover.

Alla and I also placed a copy of our passports' photo pages on top of the section of photos as part of the Proof of Meeting section. I thought this could help them put the name with the faces in the photos.

As others have stated, if he included his birth certificate then the passport pages he sent should be fine since they are only trying to prove you have met within the last 2 years.

As far as the letter of intent, this is almost exactly what I did - I answered "how you met" on a separate sheet of paper and at the end wrote "we plan on getting married at the courthouse in Such-n-such, Virginia soon after his entry." I did not say within 90 days or have anything signed by him, but they approved us without RFE. It all depends on who adjudicates your petition. Don't worry about it until you hear from them, though.
