Hello everybody, I'm going to be sending in my AOS papers this week................do I put my maiden name or my married name on the AOS and the Advance Parole applications????????? My brain is swimming with information overload :unsure:

I will put my check list on here tomorrow and would appreciate your feedback. I sure don't want to miss anything. I can't believe I still have to collect the same info as I put in for my K1.............

I got my pictures done at Walmart today. On the application it says my photos have to be taken in the last 30 days but there is no date stamped on the back....I asked the clerk and she called another centre and she said they've never heard of stamping the back...........when I got my pictures done at Walmart in Canada, they were stamped and initialed!!! I sure hope this will not cause any problem!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll put the receipt with them if I have to. Talk more tomorrow. Thanks.............{{{{{HUGS}}}}

If you want your married name, then put that. If you want to keep your maiden then put that on again. If you are changing to your married, on the G-325A under "all other names used", include your maiden name. Your marriage certificate will prove the change in last name.

WalMart didnt stamp a date or anything? Thats really weird. I got mine done at Walgreen's for my AOS and they were stamped with a date... they didnt have all the other stuff Canada puts on them though.

No, Stina, they didn't date it. I talked to 2 people there. Maybe I should get them done at the Post Office (I did go there today but they were finished taking pictures at 3 so I was too late by a half hour..Rats!!

I will be keeping my maiden name but I will be adding Bruce's surname also (the hyphen deal :D )

Do I put in 4 G-325's the same as the K1? Or can I just use one each for Bruce and I. Thanks for your quick reply.....................((((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Yes you do all 4 pages again EXCEPT this time the USC does not need to fill it out, so in your case, Bruce doesnt need to do the G-325A, only you do. Enjoy... lol

If the pictures bother you, I would suggest getting them redone with a stamp... it will just give your mind a break during the process.

Our photos were taken at a local studio and didn't have dates on them either. Becuse of the 30 day rule, we included a copy of the store receipt clearly showing the photos listed, and the date they were taken, the name address and phone number of the store, and also included a copy of the credit card receipt dated the same date and time.

We did not get an RFE for more photos.

I had my pics done at Kmart and they wouldnt stamp it . I sent the receipt with the pics and was RFE'd because of a slight shadow. Strange though I was only Rfe'd for the advanced Parole and not the AOS and they were the exact same pics. (Maybe I'll get one later) Im glad to find out that walgreens will stamp it (everyone in Canada stamps it) Good luck

I was RFE'd on my photos at my actual interview. She gave them back to me, and asked if we minded quickly running out to the local pharmacy, getting them retaken and bringing them straight back. It was something to do with the brightness and contrast she said...although in my opinion my originals were much better than the pharmacy one I now have stuck on my greencard :P

Yes, when it comes to photographs, USCIS truly are way fussier than your pickiest-photo phobic woman... :wacko:
