Fiance is British Citizen, But Indian Born

Hi everyone, I was told to come look here since no one else seems to know for sure. My fiancee, for complicated reasons, cannot get her hands on an original copy of her birth certificate in Britain. She went through the Indian Embassy to help her, but without a relative there in India to vouch for her, they said they couldn't help. Her K1 Visa Interview is soon and she needs it badly. She is a British citizen of Indian birth, and has lived in the UK since age 1.

She then contacted the British High Commission and then the Foreign Commonwealth Offices and they said they couldn't help her, but after some hard persistence she was told that she could submit a fee of GBP 121 and they could go looking for her birth certificate.

Another suggested site was www.yourmaninindia.com, which looks like it would be a lot cheaper and would be a lot faster. She needs it quick because her interview is on the 30th of March this month, and after May she has no where to go in Britain. What do you all suggest, and what is her best avenue of getting it? We're not sure if YMI.com is legit and we don't know how comfy we are about giving them personal info in order to get her certificate...

The fastest way is if she had any family or friends in India that could get it for her (with the help of a under the table fee) other than that she could try http://www.saharacarehouse.com/ServicesDetail.aspx?PID=26 i have no idea how reliable they are. Good luck

KnightAndMagpie, is delaying the interview (somewhat) a workable option?
