I am on my K3 interview procedure now, i just needed to submit additional requirements to USEM. But I also received notice from NVC that my IR petition is approved and the other day I received a notice regarding 'Bill to Agent" $400 processing fee for IR petition. My husband paid the $400 for the processing. My query is that, if ever the embassy issued me a k3 visa, what will happen to the IR-1 petition? Is it necessary to continue the IR-1, even i got approved with my K3? i got confused with the two

If you are in a hurry to get the visa u can continue the k3.

But the IR-1 is MUCH MUCH better. It is a 10 years green card :P

I've posted this questions before but mine was K3 vrs. CR-1

I got the k3 interview date already but we postponed it to catch up the CR-1 inteview.

I understand that you had your k3 interview done, dont know how it works for you.

You/petetioner can call USEM and ask them about your queries.

Good luck

Actually i am having hard time in my K3, my papers was forwarded to fraud unit for further review. I was interviewed Feb 23, then went back to FU march 12, then i am scheduled again on March 26 to submit chats and emails  . In that case can we still posponed the K3? or can i abandoned my K3 and wait for my IRI? or if USEM denied my K3, will my IR-I works for me?

The reasons why they sent you to FPU will still come up if you do the IR-1.

But you can call the USEM or let your husband call them to ask about it.

I have friend who sent to FPU and they ask to submit bout the chatlogs and e mails

but sad to say that she did not have it. But she is in the US now with her husband.

As long as your relationship is real you will be fine

Good Luck

I have to make a correction based on what i read, since i have been married for 9 months only, i am under CR-1 not IR-1 :D

"If you have been married for less than two years when your spouse enters the United States on an immigrant visa, the permanent resident status is considered “conditional.” The immigrant visa is a CR ( conditional resident ) visa, not an IR ( immediate relative ) visa. "

CR-1 is still a WAY better visa than a K3.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Your CR-1 is better and cheaper overall than the K-3 visa. The K-3 visa will get your spouse to the states faster but you have to go back through the USCIS to get your green card. The NVC is way faster and more 'user friendly'. I right now am going through the same process of the K-3 and the CR-1, we might actually be able to use our interview date that we had with the K-3 for the CR-1, so we won't even have to wait longer like you normally do. Best wishes to you!!

Yes! CR-1 is much better.

And it is more cheaper when you get to the US.

Hello

i have FRIEND who got the same situation

needless to say as the guys here mentioned that the IR is better than the CR-1 which is much much better thn the K3

if your I-130 is approved as u say and went to NVC and in process there so for sure and no doubt kep with the CR-1 or IR-1 if it has been two years since your marriage .

and what you will do is that you will call the Embassy and ask for a POSTPONE for your K3 interview telling u wait your CR-1

when they approve such a request ..at the CR-1 interview u will be asked to choose between them ..thts wht happened wz my friend

once u choose it ..the other is cancelled auto

Good Luck
