Yes, it's normal to take up to 1 month or so for the Oath letter especially if they need to check something in your file, for instance if you traveled a lot... I got a friend of mine who waited for 2 months for his Oath letter. Just hang in there & chill.

Good luck!

After 120 days, you have a problem, but can take them to court.

I am in a same situation. Had an interview on January 12, 2009, and still no response. I called National Center, they told me that do no provide any answer until 90 days after the date of the interview. I sent letter to Memphis INS office - no response.

As far as I know our case goes through "additional proceedings" what is really FBI check.

We can only wait and call them again after 90 days will pass.

Did you call National Benefit Center? They told me that they will provide info only after 90 days.

The only other thing you could do - write to your senator and complain. Oh, I hope it will arrive soon.

Ok so I'll tell you in Feb I called the Customer Service line....they could not help. As usual!! So I made an infopass appointment. I was told my file is in quality control and I should be hearing from them soon. So I waited...it was a few days before the 90 day mark. I called the USCIS again and asked them what's going on. The guy on the phone stated that he did not know why St Paul was taking so long as he did not think they were that busy. But he stated call on the 8 of March. I actually waited till the 9th and gave them a call. They stated that they could not file anything because St Pauls stated that they were within the time frame. I asked what is St Paul's time frame and had no answer. So I contact my Senators office...they never got back to me. I left 3 messages, and the last message I was a lil bit angry. I got a call right back. She then told me that the file is in re-verficaion and that I should call her in 1 month. WOW great help...NOT. I then called the USICS the next day for shits and giggles and they transfered me to another person who stated a whole bunch of things. Then told me go make an info pass appointment. Which I did. They then told me the officer could have made a mistake and that the file probably went back to him for correction and now it;s waiting for somebody to sign off. ARGH!!!FRUSTRATION!! She was surprised too that it wa taking so long. BTW that office is DEAD. There were 3 people in there asking for help at 10 in the morning. So I emailed the Senators office again asking for help. STILL waiting on that reply =). I then convinced my wife that she needs to call and that it would be better if a USC puts pressure on them. We all know that they don't think squat of us. =). So my wife did and they Senators rep called the USCIS and found out the whole scoop. File is approved, just waiting to schedule an Oath date. and that we should haveit by a month. Told the rep to call every week to check on it till we get it. HA.....I told my wife she did not believe me that they would get her better answers than me trying. So moral of the story...and I know Nick D will agree with me. Have your USC spouse call, it works much better.

They don't do anything in 90 days except tell you that they are checking with the local office and will get back to you in 30 days. LOL...by that time it's 120 and you file another compliant and that takes another so many days. Their system is so messed up, even they know it.

KyngSilva,

I just read your experience. I was in shock. That's disgusting to me for what they did to your case. Sounds too bureaucratic. I'm really sorry to hear that. I just hope that won't happen to me by the time I file.

Wife's IO told her she will get her oath letter within two weeks, I gave her four, called my senator, got her oath letter mailed to me withing two hours after my call with a letter of apology. Four days later, my wife said her oath.

I instructed my wife after reading other bad experiences on this board to request her oath the same day, her IO told her that her application is only conditionally approved and is sent someplace to some other service office for final approval. That wasn't exactly true, the supervisor at our field office does the final approval. Then I instructed my wife to ask when she could expect her oath letter, this was done very tactfully of course, wife knows how to be extremely tactful, that is when she was told, within two weeks. This is the ammunition I needed to inform my senator, a verbal promise that was not kept, and with that ammunition, my senators' office was able to make an inquiry. That is what it takes.

We were so frustrated after the extreme delays in the I-751 process that caused us hardships as well as many other people and here we go again, in a state of limbo. Willing to bet if I didn't make that call, we would still be waiting, some 6 1/2 months later. Wife's application never left her IO's desk. Was also greeted by the office manager with yet another apology, helped that my senator is on the USCIS finance committee.

Did you politely ask when you could expect to see your oath letter?
